Madonna's husband, Guy Ritchie, drove her to a near-by hospital where she was treated for a broken collarbone, three cracked ribs and broken bones in one hand. At press time, the material girl was expected to be released later tonight.
Madonna's spokeswoman Barbara Charone explained, "Madonna fell off a new horse she was riding late this afternoon at Ashcombe House, her country house outside of London."
The pop star, known for reinventing herself, had recently adopted the persona of regal English lady of the manor and taken up riding as a hobby. Vogue magazine featured a spread of the "new" Madonna with one shot including her sitting atop a horse. Perhaps, she'll rethink that make-over now.
