Simmons was driving a 2005 Dodge Magnum on the Major Deegan Expressway in the Bronx when he struck another car, which then hit a police car, according to Access Hollywood.
Simmons creative driving and lack of a license lead to his arrest following the accident. Simmons lost his license last summer after he was charged with smashing his vehicle into a gate at JFK airport in New York. During that incident Simmons told a lot attendant he was a federal officer and later admitted to being under the influence of valium at the time.
Simmons was also arrested last December in upstate New York when a traffic officer stopped him for going 104 miles per hour in a 65 miler per hour zone.
Police arrested and charged Simmons for driving on a suspended license following this latest accident Friday night. He was later released.
