The series will be built around the home video footage shot by Spears with additional footage shot by the network. Spears reportedly began keeping a video journal of her relationship shortly after she began dating Federline.
While Spears has hinted at the idea of having a reality series before, it appears that the tabloid coverage of her marriage had convinced her that now was the time to get her side of the story out. Of course, the parts she wants the world to see.
Broadcaster UPN said on Tuesday it will air a six-part series about Britney Spears' courtship and wedding, largely based on home videos shot by the pop singer herself.
"I feel that last year the tabloids ran my life and I am really excited about showing my fans what really happened rather than all the stories, which have been misconstrued by journalists in the past," Spears said in a statement about the series.
UPN said that the series would also receive a second airing on one of the MTV channels. MTV and UPN are both under the Viacom umbrella.
