ABC News reports that the motion will stipulate that both the alleged victim and the NBA star have agreed that charges be dropped. There are conflicting reports as to whether the prosecutors will request that the charged be dropped with prejudice, which would prevent Bryant from being charged again. Some reports state that the prosecutors will drop the charges without prejudice, allowing them to re-indict the NBA star at a later time.
The trial has been focused on jury selection this week, and the opening arguments were expected to begin next Tuesday.
