Crosby had mistakenly left a piece of luggage at the DoubleTree Suites Hotel in Times Square on Friday and when a hotel employee went through it to try and identify the owner (he couldnt look at the records to see who the room was register to) the worker discovered an ounce of marijuana, a .45-caliber handgun and a knife, and called the police.
Crosby called the hotel and arranged to pick up his precious suitcase. At around 1 a.m. on Saturday, Crosby had returned to the Hotel, after winning over a Wayne, NJ crowd, only to be met by police, who promptly arrested the aging rocker.
Crosby was charged with a felony count of third degree weapon possession, illegal possession of a hunting knife and ammunition, as well as illegal possession of approximately one once of marijuana.
If convicted on the felony gun charge, Crosby could spend seven years in the slammer.
Crosby was released Saturday morning on $3,500 bail.
He had previously spent a year in jail on a drug possession charge after he was convicted in 1985. That conviction was later overturned on appeal and Crosby was set free.
While in prison, Crosby reportedly overcame his addictions and his much touted recovery paved the way for a liver transplant in 1994.
