Attorney M. Gerald Schwartzbach was hired by Blake after the actor let his previous attorney, Thomas Mesereau Jr., go last February. 

"I have looked at the case with different eyes than people who preceded me and I'm pursuing things that have not been pursued," Schwartzbach told the judge. 
Blake is charged with the 2001 fatal shooting of his wife, Bonny Lee Bakley, 44, as she sat in a car outside of Vitello's Italian restaurant in Studio City, Ca. The shooting took place after the couple had dined at the restaurant.
