"I am glad that this has finally been resolved," Kidman said in a statement following the verdict. 

For their part News Group Newspapers apologized for the story which they now acknowledge was untrue. 

The story reportedly caused more anguish for Law. Kidman�s attorney said, �The article implied the claimant had led Jude Law to cheat on his wife, Sadie Frost, and by her behavior caused the breakdown of their marriage." 

Law is in the middle of a divorce. 

Kidman will reportedly give the settlement money to charity. The amount of the settlement was undisclosed.
