The film will be adapted from the 70�s adventure drama that starred Lee Majors. The title character, Air Force Col. Steve Austin, was surgically enhanced with �bionics� which gave him super-human power. 

Carrey reportedly got the ball rolling on this project himself. Unlike the original television series, Carrey wants to turn this remake into a comedy.  Filming is expected to start in the fall of 2004.  .
