Paramount Pictures has optioned the song "Sk8er Boi" for a feature length film. No word yet if Avril will play a part in the movie or not but the Hollywood Reporter says that writer David Zabel ("ER," "Jag" and "Dark Angel") will have the task of adapting the song lyrics into a script.
The Reporter also states that MTV Films and Alphaville have signed on to produce the film. The songwriting team of the Matrix, who co-penned the epic song will reportedly act as consultants for the film.
Although the song has only been optioned at this point will all of the buzz surrounding screenwriters, producers and consultants it looks like the project is underway. Well have to wait and see if this milestone of the cinema will actually appear.
