GODSMACKS FACELESS CERTIFIED PLATINUM!
New York, NY - FACELESS, the third album from Republic/Universal stars, GODSMACK, has just been certified platinum by the RIAA, signifying sales of more than 1,000,000 units. The band has reached this benchmark a mere 5 weeks after the albums release in April. The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart.
The amazing sales story is due in no small part to the success of the albums first single, Straight Out Of Line, at radio. The song immediately ascended to #1 at Active, Mainstream & Heritage Rock radio & top 10 at the Modern Rock format. No stranger to radio success, GODSMACK has topped the charts with seven hit singles from their last two albums (Voodoo, Whatever and Awake among others), including the BDS Most Played Active Rock song of 2001, I Stand Alone.
FACELESS was produced by David Bottrill (Tool). GODSMACKs previous multi-platinum albums, GODSMACK and AWAKE, and their theme song from the soundtrack for THE SCORPION KING garnered the band 3 Grammy Nominations, an American Music Awards nomination and won them the 2001 BILLBOARD ROCK BAND OF THE YEAR award.
Fans can look for the band on tour in the US through late June and then when they return to the US in the fall. GODSMACKs video for Straight Out Of Line, which gives an intimate view of the band in a mock rehearsal, can currently be seen on MTV, MTV2 and Much Music USA.
