Cold is delaying the release of their new album Year of the Spider, which is now set for release on May 13th.
Limp Bizkit will have to wait an extra month before they can get their hands on the lyrical genius of Fred Durst. The red hatters new CD, Bipolar wont assault the masses in May as planned. The disc, which was originally set to hit stores on April 1st and was subsequently pushed back to May 13th, now is set for release on June 17th.
One possible reason for the delay may be that the Bizkit heads want to include a new song on the album. Last week rappers Snoop Dogg and Bubba Sparxxx reportedly went into a studio in Los Angeles and recorded vocals for a song co-written by Durst and DJ Lethal.
The Bizkits previously collaborated with rapper Jay-Z in a New York studio but it is unclear whether the song they recorded together will actually make it onto the finished album.
Durst also recently took the opportunity to backtrack on his anti-war rhetoric which caused some backlash after he made a few antiwar remarks at the Grammy awards. Now Durst writes on the Limp Bizkit Website, I pray for all of the people over in Iraq that are fighting in this war, and I pray for anyone who gets hurt or is killed in this war. I also pray for all of the American troops that are fighting this war. I pray that they stand strong and that their courage won't let them down. And I pray that they come home safe and celebrate a U.S. victory."
Durst called on his anti-war fans to stop protesting. "We can't protest any longer. We have to support our country now because we are at the point of no return. Go USA! Go freedom for Iraq!"
He doesnt explain why he had such a major change of heart; maybe it was recent opinion polls, which show that 70% of Americans support the war in Iraq and the Bush administrations execution of Operation Iraqi Freedom. But Fred will be Fred and he signed off on his update with the following, "And on that note, our new CD is gonna hit you with a similar impact! I love you, and kiss my ass!" Bipolar indeed.
