Despite the supposed depth that material had, the songs will apparently not be on the forthcoming Limp Bizkit album after all. Durst and company have decided to shelve those songs and write and record new material with their newest bandmate, former Snot guitarist Mike Smith.
Fred Durst took to the official Limp Bizkit
website last week to fill fans in on the new plans. Ive got good news
people, Durst writes on LimpBizkit.com. The chemistry with our new guitar
player Mike is so dope that we are spending the next couple weeks writing
a new album!! what!! you heard!! we will still have it ready to release
before the
summer tour with Metallica. the 19 songs
we wrote without Mike are still amazing and sitting on the shelf waiting
on me to do whatever the hell I want to do with them. The energy and vibe
in our rehearsal space is absolutely amazing!! We are and band. We have
a guitar player that is going to bug you out. The songs are out of control
and I'm on a f***ing mission!!!!!!!!!! it's on!! never a dull day in the
bizkit camp. it's time to SHUT 'EM UP!! I hope that gets your panties in
a wad.
Durst hammered the news home a couple days later when he Posted the following: I want to let you in on something and that is that this new album is off the f***in' hook!!!!!!!!! it feels so right. It is escapism. it is limpbizkit. We are almost finished writing the new songs with mike. we have seven with him now.
Notice the name is now Limpbizkit instead of Limp Bizkit, a change Durst announced a few weeks back in one of his many lets get some press proclamations on the Bizkit website.
Never missing a chance to hone in on current events, Durst, who was the focus of some backlash for his anti-war comments a few months back added the following, The chemistry is organic. And we are putting out an album for our countries victory!! Our soldiers kicked so much ass!! I am so proud to be an American!! Watch out America. Good things are heading our way.
The title of this forthcoming album seems to change weekly but the timetable for release looks to be set for early summer still. Although we dont know what moniker it will be released under, Limp Bizkit, limpbizkit, l.bizkit or limp-bizkit, were sure Fred will do his best to keep the public informed on his ever changing mind through the groups official website.
