antiMUSIC Rock-n-Roll Pop Quiz Part I - Unwritten Law #1: What is the Unwritten Law What is the Unwritten Law? a) Pigeons shouldn't easily fit in holes. If you answered "e" than you just scored an A on Part I of this month's antiMUSIC rock-n-roll pop quiz and are more than likely already enjoying the band's rockin' new CD "Elva", you may proceed to part II. If you didn't select "e" than you are ordered to obtain a copy of "Elva" lock yourself in your room, turn the stereo all the way up, push repeat and listen to the CD for the next 48 hours, then return to take the quiz again. If this is your second time around and you still didn't select "e" than you don't belong here and should quickly click over and visit Jive Record's website where you can find all the insipid pop-crap that your silly little mind can handle. Part II - Unwritten Law #2: Pigeons shouldn't easily fit in holes. Confucius say: "A bird in hand makes a big mess". antiGUY say: "A pigeon in a hole makes for one dead bird". Listening to "Elva" the reader is asked, what style of music is this? a) Pop-punkIf you answered "e" than you just scored an A on Part II of this month's antiMUSIC rock-n-roll pop quiz and know your musical genres, you may proceed to part III. - If you didn't select "e" than you are ordered to play tracks 1, 3, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 15, 16 and 17 from Unwritten Law's new CD "Elva" and return to take this portion of the quiz again. If this is your second time around and you still didn't select "e" than you most likely think that Limp Bizkit is metal, Blink-182 is punk and Puddle of Mudd sounds original, our advise: you should walk to the nearest store and buy a clue. Part III - Unwritten Law #3: Predictability is Boring. How many times have you purchased a CD only to discover that all the songs sound alike? After listening to "Elva" the reader can make the following statements? a) This sounds just like Blink-182 or LitIf you answered "e" than you just scored an A on Part III of this month's antiMUSIC rock-n-roll pop quiz and Unwritten Law has made an impression on you, you may proceed to part IV. - If you selected "a" you don't know what the hell you are talking about because Lit and Blink-182 only wish they were as cool as Unwritten Law. - If you selected "b" you shouldn't be reading this article, you should be at the mall trying to pass yourself off as a gansta. - If you answered "c" than you are deaf, so we ask "what in the hell are you doing at a music site?" - If you answered "d" we ask that you pull your head out of your ass before proceeding to the next question. Part IV - Unwritten Law #4: Guitar driven music can contain memorable melodies and plenty of hooks and still not be a sell-out. Once finished listening to "Elva" the reader can assume that Unwritten Law was attempting to accomplish the following when writing the songs for this album? a) Land the number one spot on TRLIf you answered "e" than you just scored an A on Part IV of this month's antiMUSIC rock-n-roll pop quiz and understand that music can be widely appealing without being contrived, you may proceed to part V. - If you selected "a" you weren't listening to "Elva" check the CD and make sure it doesn't say "Alien Ant Farm" on it. - If you selected "b" you have Unwritten Law confused with a boy band, true young girls may enjoy the songs on "Elva" but their older sister and brothers should enjoy it too. If you can't tell the difference between Unwritten Law and a boy band you are in bad shape and should spend at least five hours a day at antiMUSIC for the next month to gain a better knowledge of music- If you answered "c" than you accidentally put Puddle of Mudd into your CD player and should be shot for owning that CD in the first place - If you answered "d" you know nothing about Unwritten Law and must have been listening to Green Day, in that case you are to listen to "Elva" ten times nonstop and then repeat one hundred times- "Even if he sold his soul to the Devil, Billy Joe would never be able to sound this good".
