The Road Best Traveled San Francisco has a long and proud musical tradition. While in recent years people have looked to Seattle, Boston, Orange County and Los Angeles for the next big group, Blue Sky Roadster just might change that and bring back the glory of previous times to the city by the bay. The music is a solidly crafted mix of alternative and pop, in the mold of bands like the Marvelous 3, latter day Enuff Z'nuff, Redd Kross and the Posies. Filled with rich harmonies, crunchy guitars, flashy bass lines and rock solid beats, the music of Blue Sky Roadster can make even the most cynical of listeners stand up and take notice. The band formed in 1997 from members of various popular San Francisco bands. Lead vocalist Todd Herfindal had played with Thrill Pillows. Bassist Fraser Lunney had previously played with Honeypot and the Gary Floyd Band. Howard Myint is a Chicago transplant who gives the band their big guitar sound. Rounding out the line up is drummer Tommy Rickard, his musical resume includes the band Vain who recorded for Island Records. Earlier this year they released their first full length album, Roller Coaster Goodbye. From the opening bars of "Driving South" you know you are in for a treat. The poptastic melodies carry the day as songs like Comedown Lovely, Radiate, Like Opium and Live On Any Way make this a must have CD for anyone who is serious about heavy pop music. Now that I have gotten your palate wet, why not head on over to Blue Sky Roadster's web site for a bite of some tasty music and learn more about this incredible Bay Area band who is sure to put San Francisco back on the map of Rock n Roll in the 21st century! - antiGUY BlueSkyRoadster.net
