{Begin Transmission}: Greetings from the Lab...Its been ENTIRELY too long, but there have been strange events and moments these last few months in The Docs life....I still dont have a clear memory of the entire month of January, just to give you an idea of whats been going on. I have found myself drawing more and more comfort from the company of Rum and Miller High Life. This is what happens when you go into seclusion...youd go into seclusion too if you were being followed by Men In Black. Ashcroft must have sensed something...he turned up the heat, I couldnt leave the Lab without fearing for my safety...then he went to the Hospital. Great. Now the sonofabitch is gonna be MORE pissed off and have a bigger axe to grind. Superb. The end may be near.... Thats the theme this month, kids. It seems that the days of un-abashed freedom of expression and speech may just be drawing to a close. Some blame Nipplegate (yours truly included), but I also feel there is more too it than that. Nipplegate is only PART of the problem. The other part? Its an election year, kids. This is how it goes. Now youve got all these middle class family folk all up in arms because of a goddamn Publicity Stunt, and by god they dont want their children exposed to such trash. So, of course, they flip out and start screaming for peoples heads. Far be it from me to tell someone how to raise their kids; if you wanna shelter your kids and let them think the world is a great place where everyone smiles at everyone else and arent abrasive, cussing, twats.. hey, so be it. Thats your choice. Personally, however, whenever I start a family my children will be brought up with the STRONG belief in freedom of speech and freedom of expression. Unless, of course, the government repeals the first amendment and outlaws free speech, free thought and free expression. Considering who is currently in power in this country it wouldnt surprise me if that happens. Obviously, this whole Howard Stern thing is what has drug me out of seclusion...its f***ing pathetic, really. Think about it, Howard Stern has been doing this for 20 or so years. Has it been calculated and self-serving? Sure. The man has made more money than God doing what he does..and its not unheard of for the FCC to fine him. But, why do you think Clear Channel has just NOW decided to go after him? A little odd dont you think? Of course, today, Stern goes off and says its all a sort of Right Wing conspiracy against him...and people want to start painting him as a paranoid delusional blowhard. But, honestly kids, hes right. George Bush has an election to win..and, yeah, its the FCC that is coming down on everyone...and Clear Channel whos coming down on Stern..but, remember, ultimately the US Government pulls the puppet strings for everything; and the Nit Wit Boy President is the Puppeteer. So, enjoy it while you can ladies and gentlemen. There will come a day when rants and/or columns like this will be a thing of the past if this current trend continues. How do we stop it? Well, right now, I dont have the answer to that question at the moment. But I will search for it..and when I find it; when I find out how to stop this mad stoppage of Free Speech and Expression you can bet your ASS Ill share it with you. {End Transmission} |
