The Funeral Portrait have unveiled the strikingly cinematic video for "Holy Water," that features Ivan Moody, lead singer of Five Finger Death Punch. "Holy Water" features Moody's powerful and distinctively rugged guest vocals and is taken from the deluxe edition of The Funeral Portrait's critically acclaimed second album Greetings From Suffocate City, out June 13 via Better Noise Music. "Holy Water" debuted at #21 on Billboard's "Mainstream Rock Tracks" chart at #21 and is now positioned at #14.

"Holy Water" is brought to life in a gothic-style video directed by Michael Lombardi of Better Noise Films, an affiliate of Better Noise Music. The video's narrative outlines the origin of how singer Lee Jennings got his power to ignite the souls of fans around the world. "We filmed Ivan Moody deep in the desert of Prescott, Arizona on top of a thousand-foot canyon," says Lombardi. "We then had to shoot THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT on a day off between shows in Philadelphia and New York City. This created a challenge in finding the epic gothic-style church location I needed. After scouting several locations, I ended up finding a phenomenal old and abandoned church in the Poconos in Pennsylvania." (continue)

Last night, Bob Mould tore up the stage on NBC's The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon with a special performance of new song "When Your Heart Is Broken," off his highly anticipated new album Here We Go Crazy, out now.

"'When Your Heart Is Broken' is built from a familiar blueprint for my work: bright melodies, dark words, loud guitars," Mould explains. "It's one of the earliest songs written for Here We Go Crazy, and I added it to my Solo Electric set list in Fall 2022. Some nights, I would play 'Too Far Down', followed by 'When Your Heart Is Broken', then ask the audience: Which one of the two is heavier? To me, the musical urgency of 'When Your Heart Is Broken' is uplifting, the lyrical reflection offers redemption, and it's most certainly a song I can throw myself into when playing live." Pittsburgh rockers Old Neon just announced the May 23rd release of their new Matt Brasch of The Wonder Years produced EP 'Resolution', and shared the first single "Nobody's Burden". To celebrate we asked vocalist Drew Sipo to tell us about the track. Here is the story:

In mid 2024 our guitar player Bea sent a bunch of instrumental tracks over to me to write to. When I heard the track that would become Nobody's Burden I was instantly inspired. When I write I usually come up with melodies first and let that guide the lyrics. I just let the music play and I start singing the first things that come to mind, most of it is nonsense "almost words." Usually out of that I'll get a hint at what actual words belong in the song. In this case the opening line came almost instantly "Blindsided, that's how it feels to me but can't fight it now." And the start of the chorus came pretty naturally too "But you know I'll find my way home when you leave me in the dark." So then it becomes a game of filling in the gaps and telling a story using those lines as sort of seeds/anchors. (continue)
