Longtime Eagles guitarist Steuart Smith has retired from the band after he was diagnosed with Parkinsonism. He was replaced by Dallas musician Chris Holt, who joined the band for their first Sphere Las Vegas show of 2025 on January 17th.

Smith, who replaced Don Felder in the Eagles in 2001, explained his decision to retire, "It is with profound regret that, due to performance issues associated with my recently diagnosed Parkinsonism, I find that I must bow out of my role with the Eagles while I can still do so gracefully. It's been a great quarter of a century, and I had hoped to be able to finish out this year with the band, but I must now do what's best for all concerned." (continue)

Billy Morrison has announced that he and Ozzy Osbourne will be releasing their new single "Gods Of Rock N Roll" featuring Billy Idol icon Steve Stevens on Valentine's Day, February 14th.

The song is new version of the track that originally appeared on Morrison's 2015 "God Shaped Hole" album. The new version features the addition of a full 61 piece Orchestra and choir. (continue)

Former Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar and ex-Guns N' Roses drummer Matt Sorum are just a couple of the stars that will be taking part in the Rock for Responders benefit concert next month.

The special event will be held Thursday, February 27, 2025, at the Battleship IOWA Museum in San Pedro, CA. According to the event's webpage: Kings of Chaos will rock the LA Waterfront right in front of the iconic Battleship IOWA. Exactly 30 years to the day, multi-platinum, four-time GRAMMY-nominated rock band Goo Goo Dolls are set to release a 30th Anniversary deluxe edition of their fifth studio album, A Boy Named Goo, on March 14. Originally released in 1995, this classic album catapulted the band to mainstream success and was Certified 2x Platinum within a year of its release. Driven by the smash hit "Name," the record also included the singles "Flat Top," "Naked," "Only One" and "Long Way Down."

The 24-track, deluxe 2xLP format will include the original album, plus an unreleased live concert performance recorded in Las Vegas on March 10, 1996. The 2xCD deluxe edition contains 34 tracks and includes the live concert, plus 4 B-sides from the era and 6 songs recorded semi-acoustically for the radio show Modern Rock Live in 1996. The Darkness go hell for leather on the new single, channeling the sounds of hard rock legends such as ZZ Top, Motorhead and Judas Priest with searing solos, hell-raising vocals and a fist-pumpin' rhythm section to create a tongue-in-cheek reflection on the hedonistic, macho music scene of the '70s and '80s. Queen has shared the latest episode of their video series The Greatest Special with "The Story Of Queen I -Trident Drum Sound". With the remixed, remastered and expanded version of Queen's classic 1973 debut album now available, The Greatest goes behind the scenes with Brian May and Roger Taylor to explore the creation of this landmark album.

In 1972, having had their first taste of professional recording at De Lane Lea studios for a demo reel, the band were understandably excited when they were given access to the famous Trident Studios to start work on their first album. However, they quickly discovered that their idea of how Queen should sound was at odds with that of the studio bosses, and for Roger, it posed a particular challenge. (continue)
