Envy Of None are back today with news of their much anticipated second album, Stygian Wavz, set for release on Kscope on March, 14th. The announcement follows a recent flurry of activity from the Canadian/American band which saw them release two singles, 'Not Dead Yet' and 'Under The Stars', both of which included on the new album.

To celebrate the announcement, Envy Of None have shared a new single - album title track 'Stygian Waves' - alongside a new music video animated and directed by Mariano Biotico. Speaking on the new single and the upcoming album, Envy of None songwriter and bassist Andy Curran said "This track is a favourite of all 4 EONs. Despite the fact of the spartan lyrical content, this song features our sweet Maiah on lead vocals. Her harmonies and layers of vocals are literally symphonic! It's hard to put a finger on what style or genre this one is...and we're proud of that!" (continue)

Mayday Parade announce a massive North American 20-Year Anniversary Tour this Spring. Aptly titled Three Cheers for Twenty Years, the nearly two-month long trek will feature music from every stage of their two decade career including hits, standards, deep cuts and new material. Things kick-off on April 22nd in St. Petersburg, FL at Jannus Live and the headline run has them out through June 7th when they return home to Tallahassee, FL where they'll play The Moon.

"This tour is the culmination of the band's career for the past 20 years, and as such, we really wanted to go all out and provide our fans with a memorable and very special experience. We will be celebrating our deep music catalog starting at this band's inception and continuing with our new releases this year. We are all very proud of what we've done, and when I say we, I mean the five of us, our crew - touring, production, and administrative - and, most importantly, you, the fans. Everyone always says that without you, we couldn't do this, and I know that sounds like a cliche at this point, but that sentiment is repeated because of its literal and figurative truth. While we may "make" the music you enjoy, your energy and support fuel this dream. We look forward to seeing you at these shows and celebrating the past 20 years with us." - Alex Garcia (continue)

Wolfheart have unveiled an evocative music video for "Burning Sky", a single from their latest album released on September 7, 2024 via RPM. The video serves as a visual recap, highlighting the tour's most memorable moments for those who attended the live shows and those yet to see the band live.

"Our latest European tour was definitely one for the books in our career and it just felt right to shoot footage from several shows during the tour. Drive-By Truckers co-founder Patterson Hood has shared the second song, "The Pool House," from his landmark new solo album, Exploding Trees & Airplane Screams, arriving via ATO Records on Friday, February 21, 2025.

"The Pool House" was originally inspired by a night I spent at a creepy rental," says Hood. "A literal pool house for an apartment complex that I rented cheap for the night during a solo tour. It was off-season and the pool was dark green and filled with algae. The whole thing was creepy and as I'd had a couple of drinks, my mind was definitely wandering, conjuring up some macabre sh*t. I wrote most of it during lockdown and demoed it then on my home rig. (continue)

The fires raging in the Los Angeles area have relentlessly wreaked havoc and widespread destruction since January 7 and, sadly, do not show signs of slowing down. Despite containment progress over the weekend, officials warn residents to stay vigilant as the Santa Ana winds return and are expected to reach up to 70 MPH over the coming days, creating critical fire conditions.

In the past week, the community has suffered at least 24 lives lost, nearly 100,000 people under evacuation orders, 40,000 acres burned, and more than 12,000 structures-commercial and residential-destroyed. However, numbers cannot articulate the magnitude of anguish as the disaster upends families and dismantles livelihoods. (continue)

Spirits Burning, the project led by Don Falcone and featuring Hawkwind alum Bridget Wishart, Richard Chadwick and Steve Bemand among the members, just released their first live album "Live At Kozfest' and to celebrate we asked Don to tell us about the song "Stand and Deliver". Here is the story:

The music for the studio version of "Stand and Deliver" emerged from a jam with one of my coworkers, Mike Moskowitz. He was a product manager at Pro Tools developer Avid (formerly Digidesign) and I managed the technical publications department. Mike had access to a practice space in San Francisco and we headed there one evening with his guitar and black drum machine, and my bass guitar. I suspect I decided to revert to my original instrument instead of keyboards to lighten the load, and to steer us to writing a rockier song. At the time, I was working on a noir-based Spirits Burning album with Roger Neville-Neil (to be titled "Behold The Action Man"). Roger had already given me the song title (from a book of the same name), and it inspired what Mike and I played. We might have even had Roger's verse lyrics at the time. These were based on the concept of historical "highwaymen" like "D. B. Cooper" (who "was a paratrooper") and "Bold Black Bart (who "was a pirate at heart"). (continue)
