Original Queenryche frontman Geoff Tate reveals in a new interview how the band came up with their name after management told them that they could no longer go by the name they were using.

Tate told the SDR show, "That's kind of a funny song. Management told us we could no longer call ourselves "The Mob" (their former name) because someone owned it, and we'd have to change it. (continue)

Aerosmith star Tom Hamilton's new band Close Enemies have announced that they have inked a deal with TLG|ROCK for management and label services and revealed that they upcoming record will be distributed through Virgin Music Group.

The band will be releasing their debut single "Sound Of A Train" on January 17th and will be playing shows in support. Hamilton is joined in the group by drummer Tony Brock (The Babys and Rod Stewart), touring veterans Peter Stroud (Sheryl Crow and Don Henley) and Trace Foster on guitar, and singer Chasen Hampton of 90s Mickey Mouse Club and the pop group The Party. Pink Floyd legend David Gilmour landed a top 24 story of Sept 2024 after he released his first new album in nine years, 'Luck and Strange'. Here are the details from Sony in our look back in the Year In Rock: Featuring the singles' The Piper's Call', 'Between Two Points' and 'Dark And Velvet Nights', 'Luck and Strange' was recorded over five months in Brighton and London and is Gilmour's first album of new material in nine years. The record was produced by David and Charlie Andrew, best known for his work with alt-J and Marika Hackman.

The album features nine tracks, including the beautiful reworking of The Montgolfier Brothers' 1999 song, 'Between Two Points,' which features 22-year-old Romany Gilmour on vocals and harp; the lead-off track, 'The Piper's Call,' and the title track, which features the late Pink Floyd keyboard player Richard Wright, recorded in 2007 at a jam in a barn at David's house. Billy Morrison, Corey Taylor, and Steve Vai landed a top 24 story of Sept 2024 after releasing an animated video for "Incite The Watch," a single from Billy's solo album The Morrison Project.
