Metallica have announced that Sammy Hagar's Best Of All Worlds band has been added to this year's Helping Hands Concert at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles on December 13th.
The band shared, "Helping Hands 2024 is just one short week away. We're psyched to announce that our friends Sammy Hagar (The Red Rocker) with Special Guests Michael Anthony, Joe Satriani, and Kenny Aronoff will take the stage in support of All Within My Hands Foundation this year! (continue)
Legendary rockers Styx and Kevin Cronin, the iconic voice and writer behind REO Speedwagon's greatest hits, have one of the strongest brotherly bonds spanning 25 years, especially since they've crossed paths on the North American concert trail along with the occasional joint festival concert. Jerry Cantrell's recently released album, I Want Blood, is being reimagined as a spoken-word series, with new versions of the album tracks debuting every Thursday, and featuring video animations by Boy Tillekens. The first installment is for "Vilified," and can be streamed now.
In a recent episode of the Lipps Service podcast, Cantrell shared how the spoken-word pieces came to be: "I wanted to do something special, try to do something cool, and I've never done a spoken word recitation of the lyrics, and I thought it might be kind of cool to have it on the B-side of 'Vilified.' I recorded it, and it sounded cool. I thought maybe it needs some music or something, and I was sitting there with Maxwell Urasky, my demo partner. He's a really talented musician, and he said 'Let me mess around with it for a night.' He came back the next day with that piece of music, and it sounded killer. I brought it in to Joe Barresi and he said, 'Man, you should do this with all of them.' (continue)

Megadeth cofounder and former bassist David Ellefson is sadden by the state of rock music in the U.S. and shared his belief in a new interview that he agrees with KISS star Gene Simmons that "rock is dead in America."
Ellefson made comment during a new interview with Border City Rock Talk in Canada. He said, "Rock is dead in America, it really is. And I know people will lambaste me for saying that, but it is. When Gene Simmons said it, everybody hated him for it, but he's right. (continue)

Thirty years after his debut solo instrumental album, Bumblefoot revisits his roots with a 14-track masterpiece that spans genres from metal to orchestral to blues.
The album's opening track, "Simon in Space," serves as its first single, delivering an electrifying ride through chaos and intensity. Def Leppard had a top 24 story of February 2024 when they announced that they were releasing an expanded edition of their blockbuster "Pyromania" album for the record's 40th anniversary. The Oriel Company sent over these details: Originally released in 1983, Pyromania launched Def Leppard into rock legend status. The album featured global hit singles 'Photograph', 'Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop)' and "Rock of Ages" and the went on to achieve platinum status across the globe (including a # 2 chart entry in the USA). Pyromania has since become one of the biggest selling rock albums of all time and alongside it's follow up - Hysteria - has made Def Leppard one of only five rock bands in history to have two albums with a coveted RIAA Diamond Certification (over 10 million sales in the USA alone). A massive feat within the music industry still to this day.
