Jason Charles Miller has released his official music video for "I Need A Rescue," the second video from his new album 'Knives In The Dark.' The song and video features guest keyboardist and vocalist Ellis Hall, best known for his work with Tower Of Power, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder and Patti LaBelle, to name just a few.
"The song 'I Need a Rescue' accidentally became a tribute to Deep Purple - Mark 3 in particular, the David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes lineup that did the albums 'Burn' and 'Stormbringer'," Miller says of the track. "I've often said that 'Burn' has been one of the most influential albums in my life, and I think it's one of the best rock albums in history, period! Once Gary [Potter, guitarist] came up with the riff for 'Rescue,' the song basically wrote itself. I had become friendly with Ellis Hall through knowing his family, and he's an absolute legend. What he added to the recording, with his B3 playing and amazing vocals, really took it over the top." (continue)

Lucero lead singer Ben Nichols and keyboardist Rick Steff revisit the Memphis rock/alt-country band's exceptional catalog with 20 stripped-down tracks on Lucero Unplugged, a special double album releasing on January 24. Recorded in a single day at longtime collaborator and producer Matt Ross-Spang's Memphis studio, the songs range from some of Lucero's most popular crowd favorites to more obscure rarities and were all recorded live with grand piano and acoustic guitar. Along with the announcement, the pair shares "That Much Further West," originally released as the title track of Lucero's 2003 album and reimagined in a live video taped during the Unplugged recording session.
Lucero Unplugged evolved out of the uniqueness and intimacy of the live acoustic shows Nichols and Steff would sometimes perform together. The process allowed the musicians to elaborate on old parts and incorporate new takes on songs they have played with the full band for years. Nichols explains, "I've been wanting to release acoustic versions of some old songs for a very long time, but Lucero always seemed to have too many other projects and tours in the works. I knew keeping it as simple as possible was the key to getting it done, and I knew Rick and I could go in and probably get most of the songs down in just one or two takes. So finally I decided to call up Matt Ross-Spang and book a day at the studio myself. I love Southern Grooves and Lucero has done our last two albums there. I knew if we could just get in that room and play some quieter, pretty versions of these songs, it would be something special." (continue)

Drew & Ellie Holcomb return today with their latest single "High Seas" - a lyrical ode to their commitment to one another set to a nostalgic soundtrack that might just be the best first dance song at your wedding. It's the second single to be released ahead of the couple's forthcoming first official full-length studio album Memory Bank that's set to drop on January 24th via Magnolia Music. The album release will be followed by the duo's biggest US headline tour to date that kicks off on February 5th at the Saenger Theatre in Mobile, AL and culminates in Nashville, TN at the Ryman Auditorium on May 3rd.
"High Seas" is a tribute to saying yes to a person, having no idea what kind of joys or sorrows you'll walk through together. We wrote this one with our producer, Cason Cooley, while touring on the road together. I can't wait to sing this one live. It's got this soaring melody, a beautiful harmony, and the lyrics carry both the treasures and grief that come with being human. When you choose to marry someone, you're saying "yes" to grow, to grieve, to hope, to persevere, to laugh, and to build a life together. It's the adventure of following someone into the High Seas. Swells of stunning sunsets and starglow, as well as storms you don't think you can survive. It's all out there, and it's been both a joy and deeply soul-transforming work to navigate both the beauty and the storms together. (continue)

Equal Vision Records and Louisville, KY hardcore punk icons Coliseum are excited to announce the release of Coliseum (20th Anniversary Edition), a fully remixed and remastered offering of the band's celebrated self-titled debut album.
Originally released on Level-Plane Records in June 2004, Coliseum was well-received and holds a special place in the band's history (and heart). Unfortunately, the drums ended up buried in the original mix and the album didn't quite portray an accurate representation of the band at that time. Now, 20 years after its original release, frontman Ryan Patterson remixed the album in the hope of shining a light on the entire band, particularly its original drummer, Patterson's cousin Matt Jaha, who passed away in April 2020.
