One of the most striking hard rock bands of the 1970's was undoubtedly Angel - who sported costumes, and a highly theatrical stage show only rivaled by KISS (their then-label mates on Casablanca Records). Despite Angel splitting in 1981, the group's popularity and influence remain high - resulting in the return of their larger-then-life guitarist, Punky Meadows, with his first-ever solo release Fallen Angel in 2016, which was followed by the Angel reunion album Risen in 2019 and follow up Once Upon A Time in 2023.

Punky has now recorded his first ever Christmas song at Knothole Recording Studio in Charlotte, NC and he is delivering it in that traditional Christmas vibe. As Punky explains, "Hey guys, want to introduce to you, my new Christmas song "Wrap Me Up". This is not a rock song, it's a standard Classic Christmas Song, like the Christmas songs of the 50's and 60's (when the best Christmas songs were written). "Wrap Me Up" will put a smile on your face, make you happy, romantic, Christmassy and want to dance! Your kids, parents, and grandparents will love this song! It just makes you feel good! Merry Christmas Bay-Bee!" (continue)

The Brian Setzer Orchestra is a swing band formed in 1992 by Stray Cats frontman Brian Setzer. Their debut self titled album was released in 1994, and was followed up in 1996 with Guitar Slinger. In 1998, for their breakout album The Dirty Boogie, the group covered Louis Prima's "Jump, Jive An' Wail", which originally appeared on Prima's 1957 album The Wildest! and found themselves with a runaway hit! The album's success led to a massive tour which ran from fall of 1998 through the summer of 1999, including a performance at the infamous Woodstock 1999. The Dirty Boogie's success was capped off with a Grammy win for Brian's version of "Sleepwalk" for Best Pop Instrumental in 1999. That would just be the first Grammy that Brian would bring home with the Orchestra.

With the success of the recent Guitar Slinger reissue from the Brian Setzer Orchestra we are now excited to announce for the first time on vinyl since 1998, The Dirty Boogie on December 13th. Remastered on 180g vinyl in two amazing Limited-Edition Colors and in a special gatefold jacket. There are only 300 of the Multi-Color Splatter and 700 of the Seafoam Melt. The Dirty Boogie is the third release from the Brian Setzer Orchestra. As Setzer states about this time, "When the swing revival came, it put me on that wave and it was a great thing for me because it got the sound out there and all of a sudden, I turned around and oh my gosh, everything was just huge." The live tour set featured several Stray Cats hits including "Rock This Town" which got a big band re-working for The Dirty Boogie, along with many other tracks from the new album which were made for the stage. Rising Tokyo pop-punk artist Sarina just released a music video for "Why Am I So Sad?", a track from her new "Break Out" EP, and to celebrate we asked her to tell us about the track. Here is the story:

"Why am I so sad?!" fell into my lap on a lazy Thursday morning in the porcelain scene lamp and pink satin upholstered "nice" sitting room of my grandmother's house. Despite the lovely rays of summer sun streaming through the bay window, I was feeling sad. Low. Down. Some would even say forlorn. Why, you may ask? Well I asked as well! The answer was: No reason. I was just sad. Like I am sad so very often for seemingly no reason other than my brain likes to keep me on my proverbial toes. In that moment the true whiny, bratty, ridiculousness of the situation came out of me in the form of two simple lines of song "Why am I so sad? Everyday is... Blah Blah Blah" (I often describe my mood as "blah" when I feel that way) Then I thought 'hmm well Blah rhymes with bad, Kinda. I mean I could probably make it rhyme...' And around 30 minutes later "Why am I so sad?!" was born. On my uncle's old acoustic as my mother sipped tea and my grandmother attended virtual Mass. (continue)
