Megadeth are celebrating the 30th anniversary of their "Youthanasia" album by bringing back their historic Megadeth, Arizona website for fans to take a look back at the history making website as part of the festivities. SRO sent over the following details and a Q&A with Dave Mustaine. In October 1994, MEGADETH and their label took a chance with a new venture. To celebrate the release of the YOUTHANASIA album, the pioneering band established Megadeth, Arizona. It was the first-ever band website on the Internet.

Peter Murphy and Boy George have joined forces for the gorgeous, orchestral new single "Let The Flowers Grow" which is available today via Metropolis Records. Premiered yesterday by Rolling Stone, the duet finds both artists creating a profoundly emotional masterpiece.

Recalls Peter, "I was recording my new album in Spain with Youth (Killing Joke). Whilst listening to a playback of a song during a lull, I heard a piece of music that was coming from his cell phone. It caught my ear for its melodic beauty as well as a Roy Orbison-like voice that sang the song." Learning that it was an unfinished demo that Boy George had written, Peter was intrigued and asked Youth if he could work on the partial song. "In a matter of 20 minutes, we had 'Flowers' finished." Following the recent 7" single release of "The Night Comes Down" from the new Queen I boxset, Brian May now reveals for the first time the inspiration behind the deeply personal lyrics - and unearths his original acoustic guitar to demonstrate how he achieved the song's unique sound.

"I had moments when I thought, 'I'm in a great place, I can make music. I'm with great friends. I'm at college doing stuff that I love doing. Everything's great.' And then somehow, everything would fall apart, and then it's like the night came down in my head. So that's what the song was about. It's not a jolly song." -Brian May (continue)

Former NFL Eagle Jason Kelce and the legendary Stevie Nicks have teamed up to record the Ron Sexsmith penned duet, "Maybe This Christmas," out today via Vera Y Records. This is the second single from the upcoming holiday album, A Philly Special Christmas Party due November 22nd from The Philly Specials. The gentle, Americana-tinged song finds the duo trading verses brimming with hope that the season will inspire reconnection with lost loved ones. As they sing, "and maybe forgiveness will ask us to call, someone we love, someone we've lost for reasons we can't quite recall, maybe this Christmas." In addition to highlighting the hopeful vocals between Kelce and Nicks, the song features Mike "Slo-Mo" Brenner's dream-like pedal steel guitar perfectly capturing the beauty in the melancholy lyrics.

"I love 'Maybe This Christmas' for so many reasons - the shape of the melody, the way the chords have their own melodic arc, the feel - but I love it most of all for its message of hope and forgiveness," says producer and drummer on the track, Charlie Hall. "While the holidays are about togetherness, it also offers a time for reflection and sometimes that means considering 'someone we love, someone we've lost, for reasons we can't quite recall...' And in today's day and age, it's nice to think that, indeed, 'maybe this year love will appear deeper than ever before.' I was really hoping this song would resonate with Jason when we were kicking around ideas for this record, and it's clear from the way he inhabits that beautiful melody that it did. And to have Stevie Nicks, one of the all-time masters of emotional transference (and an all-time hero of mine) come in and amplify all this is such a dream. I love this duet so much." (continue)

Florida's Seven Kingdoms are celebrating the release of their highly anticipated EP The Square with a video for "Wilted Pieces". The song is a melodic anthem similar in style to classic 80s songs by bands such as Starship, Journey, Def Leppard and Bon Jovi.

The band comments: "This is a slower melodic anthem singalong style song that has a lot of 80's influence. We wanted to make a song that would translate on a very big PA while bringing a somewhat Hair Metal / 80s vibe with some synth sounds and influences. (continue)

Butcher Babies are back with the new track "Sincerity"! This is the first song released since the band and vocalist Carla Harvey departed ways in July this year.
Released via Judge and Jury Records, the new track has everything to not make the fans disappointed - captivating vocals, a lethal dose of electronics, and groovy riffs!

This is what Heidi Shepherd said about "Sincerity" and the upcoming music from the band: "'Sincerity' is wishful thinking in that someone you trusted had been sincere and delicate with your feelings and emotions rather than used to feed their own ego and benefit. The tag line, 'the lies we can't survive', stems from a relationship that has been fought for over and over again but, ultimately, can not be fixed. After years of a pathological liar looking you in the eyes and offering up intentional and insincere promises, this song touches on those eyes being the 'eyes that lie.' (continue)

Less Than Jake are gearing up to release their new "Uncharted" EP next week, and to celebrate frontman/guitarist Chris DeMakes and bassist/vocalist Roger Lima discuss the latest single from the effort, "Sunny Side". Here is the story:

Chris: Man, the main riff in drop D has been around forever. I wrote that back when we were demoing for the Anthem record. It just never felt right, and was shelved. I never forgot about the idea. This time, Roger wrote the choruses, and I came up with the U2 stadium rock guitar bridge. Matt found the drum feel and groove that I was searching for all those years earlier, and the brass added a horn hook over the big guitar riff - one that rivals any of their catchiest parts. I can't wait to play this one live. (continue)
