Perry told Rather, "The passion for music had left me. I could not find honest passion for singing, and because of that I was stepping into some other dare I say party behaviors to augment my frustrations. (continue)

Pixies have shared their brand new song 'Oyster Beds', taken from their recently announced studio album The Night the Zombies Came, due for release on 25th October via BMG..
Released today, 'Oyster Beds' is a raw and spirited punk track that captures the essence of artistic expression. Inspired by Black Francis' return to painting during the band's time at Rockfield Studios, the track reflects the artwork that now sits in the hallway of Francis' home. He describes it as "a laundry list of things I was painting over the last couple years. I took up painting again when we were recording at Rockfield, and I didn't stop." (continue)
A powerful and prolific storyteller through his songcraft, the Emmy-nominated, Oregon-born, and Southern California-bred singer-songwriter-guitarist Jake Smith, aka The White Buffalo will release his first-ever live album A Freight Train Through The Night, on September 20.
Smith describes the new live album A Freight Train Through The Night "This album spans my entire career, over 20-plus years of writing and performing songs. With more than a hundred songs to choose from, some of these tracks I wrote in my 20's, and others were born just years ago. We selected crowd favorites and some deep cuts to give them a new life." He adds, "We also did a completely reworked adaptation of the song 'House of the Rising Sun.' I wanted to establish a definitive version that was all our own, and representative of our sound giving a fresh alternative to the original "Sons of Anarchy" show version. This album has all the emotion and passion of the live experience, it's visceral, in a way that can't be attained in the studio. What we do live is wildly different than studio albums. Pure and raw, no backing tracks, no auto tune, not perfect. It's the three of us giving it our all us in our purest form." (continue)

The song features soulful melodies and emotional lyrics and follows last month's Southern scorcher "Burn" featuring Ellie Holcomb. Both songs, along with May's reflective "Soul's A Camera," March's Southern rocker "Suffering," and December's heartfelt ballad "Way Back When," will be featured on the band's forthcoming LP Strangers No More Volume Two that is due out September 12th.
Strangers No More Volume Two was recorded during the Strangers No More album sessions in Asheville, NC. The band originally recorded a total of 21 songs across two weeks and Holcomb has been hard at work putting the finishing touches on this LP of 10 additional tracks. Strangers No More Volume Two features the same soulful and Americana sounds that fans have come to expect, while also incorporating elements that push Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors music in new directions. Babylon A.D. have released a music video for their brand new single "Sometimes Love Is Hell" which comes from the band's new studio album "Rome Wasn't Built In A Day".
Frontman Derek Davis had this to say, "'Sometimes Love Is Hell' is the universal love story of every man and woman that have ever lived since the days of Adam and Eve. Love always starts out peaches and cream and then the daily grind of everyday life sets in and the beautiful movie that began with two people joining their souls together slowly becomes a struggle for what they once had. British rockers Tremendous unplugged for the new stripped-down acoustic EP "Transcendence on the Cheap," and to celebrate we asked Mark Dudzinski to tell us about one of the tracks, he selected "Innocent Soho". Here is the story:
Well I guess it's my melancholic side coming out. I think it was me being nostalgic from when I was younger walking through Soho. It was a lot different then, way more sleazier and less more artisan coffee shops. Its became more gentrified like most of London. I guess it's the same as anywhere else even Soho NYC. (continue)
