Following the exclusive release of nine reimagined Meditation Mixes of John Lennon's classic 1973 peace-and-love anthem, "Mind Games" via the consciousness-expanding phone app, Lumenate, earlier this year, Mind Games - The Meditation Mixes, produced by Sean Ono Lennon, will be released digitally and on vinyl as a limited edition 3LP set on October 11 via Capitol/UMe, days after John and Sean's shared birthday (October 9). The vinyl will be pressed on 180-gram crystal clear vinyl and be packaged in a triple gatefold mirror board sleeve. Side B on LP3 will feature nine unique 1.8 second mantras that will play continually in the vinyl's run out grooves to create infinite loops.
Sean Ono Lennon says: "You might say meditation is the ultimate mind game. These very abstract interpretations will hopefully assist you in exploring your 'Innerverse.' I was both thrilled and surprised when UMG said they wanted to make a vinyl edition. This part of the Mind Games project evolved spontaneously and feels like it is sprinkled with just the right amount of good vibes and fairy dust. (Effects may vary)." (continue)

Guster is thrilled to announce the second leg of their "We Also Have Eras" Tour. What began as a cheeky tour name referencing that other Eras Tour quickly became a concert experience that many Guster fans hold now as their favorite Guster show ever. The "We Also Have Eras" Tour is a unique theatrical performance featuring extended "Evening with Guster" sets chronicling the band's history from 1994's debut album, Parachute, to their most recent full-length, Ooh La La.
The 16-date tour kicks off on January 24 in Philadelphia and will wrap up on February 15 in Los Angeles. Tickets go on sale this Friday, August 16 at 12 pm local time. "We Also Have Eras is not your average rock concert. It's a deep chronological journey through our music with skits, costume changes, and plenty of piss-poor acting. It was too much fun the first time and we missed a lot of important cities, so we're rebooting it this winter. This'll be your last chance to see this show!" (continue)
New Mexico's desert rockers Blue Heron have released a visualizer video for their brand new single "We Breathe Darkness". The song comes from their forthcoming studio album, "Everything Fades", which will arrive on September 27th through Blues Funeral Recordings.
About the song, frontman Jadd Shickler says: "Most of our new record's lyrics are about mortality and time passing. 'We Breathe Darkness' is about a ghost who's trapped in the afterlife but hasn't accepted it yet, wishing he can still get another chance at living. It's more literal than metaphorical, but there's an implied idea about living in the moment and recognizing what you have while you have it. Musically, desert rock is our stock in trade, but everyone in the band digs a broad range of stuff. After going for a straight-up rocker with our first single, you can hear our affection for more atmospheric stuff here, even dipping in a bit to post-metal territory. This is the last song we finished before heading into the studio to make the album, and it's definitely the one with the most surprising twists as it builds." (continue)

The Melvins' Dale Crover shares a final preview of his forthcoming album, Glossolalia (Sept. 13, Joyful Noise Recordings), with today's release of "Spoiled Daisies" featuring a guest performance from Ty Segall.
"This one is about a psychedelic mushroom trip gone wrong. You're looking for spirituality through psychedelics but end up having a bad trip and are exiled from the Garden of Eden," Crover says of "Spoiled Daisies," a hard-grooving, riff workout that could slot in just as comfortably on a Melvins' set list as it does on Glossolalia. "Plus," Crover adds, "Ty Segall plays a raging, psychedelic guitar solo!" (continue)

Indie pop trio RGB just released their new single "Write About You" from their forthcoming sophomore album, "A Place For Lovers", and to celebrate we asked them to tell us about the track. Here is the story:
"Write About You" came together one early morning when Roy was struggling with writer's block, frustrated and doubting his ability to create something truly poppy. But then, out of nowhere, the chorus melody came to him, reminding him that sometimes the best things come when you least expect them. The song came together quickly, almost like it was meant to be, with Roy writing the chorus and the first verse, and Noi joining in to help finish the second verse. (continue)
