Pink Floyd legend David Gilmour has released a brand new single called "The Piper's Call", which is the lead single from his first new album in nine years, "Luck and Strange", that will be arriving on September 6th.
Fran DeFeo PR sent over these details: 'Luck and Strange' was recorded over five months in Brighton and London and is Gilmour's first album of new material in nine years. The record was produced by David and Charlie Andrew, best known for his work with ALT-J and Marika Hackman. Of this new working relationship, David says, "We invited Charlie to the house, so he came and listened to some demos, and said things like, "Well, why does there have to be a guitar solo there?" and "Do they all fade out? Can't some of them just end?". He has a wonderful lack of knowledge or respect for this past of mine. He's very direct and not in any way overawed, and I love that. That is just so good for me because the last thing you want is people just deferring to you." (continue)

In the video, Billy discusses his intention to write an anti-love song because the 80s were already filled with drippy, soppy love songs. He describes "Eyes Without A Face" as almost like a murder song. He shares that he drew influence from many silent films he enjoyed watching, noting their similarities in achieving impactful effects with limited resources and budgets. (continue)

Say Anything have released a brand new track called "ON CUM". The track comes from their forthcoming album, "...Is Committed", which will arrive on May 24th and is their first album since 2019.
The Syndicate sent over these details. The new track a textbook ripper, packed with allusions to the bands that formed the soundtrack to Emo Nite and the When We Were Young Festival, which the band is set to perform at in October. It has a chopping punk thrash backbeat, a battering NOFX-style second verse attack, and an idiosyncratic and emotional outro, with Bemis crooning "I'm Brandon Boyd-ing out in this son of a b***h." In fact, Brian Eichelberger from the Beach Boys band, and America's Gerry Beckley, join Larson for the song's shimmering harmonies. Plus, Larson co-produced Adobe Home with Beckley who plays bass and organ on "This Summer." And Brian Young-from another sunny-sounding band, Fountains of Wayne-is on drums. (continue)
Swiss heavy crew Leave The Ghosts Behind recently released their debut single "Diamond Skin" and to celebrate we asked them to tell us about the track. Here is the story:
The lyrics for these three songs came from a deep place within me. I wasn't aware of it, but these feelings and emotions were somehow waiting to resurface and be turned into aggressive yet melancholic songs. "With You In The Dark" is straight up about being jealous. Nothing more, nothing less. I think most of us have experienced or even endured this nasty feeling, so much so that it turns into hate. Well, it's exactly that. While some might say this song is a bit cliche, I embraced the sentimentality. (continue)
