Production on the long-awaited sequel to the iconic 1984 mockumentary "This Is Spinal Tap" has begun in New Orleans, Louisiana, according to a report by Variety.
Rob Reiner, who has written and is directing the film, will reprise his role as documentarian Martin "Marty" DiBergi, and the original film stars Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer will also return for the new film. (continue)
AC/DC's Brian Johnson and Dire Straits' Mark Knopfler are launching a new six-part documentary series, entitled "Johnson And Knopfler's Music Legends" that will air on Sky Arts, Freeview and NOW beginning on April 25.

The Hold Steady has announced The Hold Steady Constructive Summer 2024, featuring special weekends of headline shows and exclusive events in Seattle, WA (May 30-June 1), Washington, DC (June 20-22), and Denver, CO (August 22-24), along with a previously announced weekend in Toronto, ON (May 2-4). Brit Floyd, The World's Greatest Pink Floyd Experience, is currently on their 2024 P-U-L-S-E World Tour-Celebrating the 30th Anniversary of Pink Floyd's Division Bell + Greatest Hits. Their upcoming Syracuse, NY show on Tuesday, March 26 will be an extra special one for the band as they will be presented with multiple honors.
First up, the group will have the International Metal Envoy award bestowed upon them by the Metal Hall of Fame by its President/CEO Pat Gesualdo. The Metal Hall of Fame is a non-profit organization dedicated to enshrining forever the iconic bands, industry executives, and musicians who are responsible for making rock and metal music what it is today. Independent Project Records and David J (Bauhaus, Love and Rockets) share news of a West Coast tour in support of the recently announced triple album Tracks From the Attic on digital, CD, colored vinyl LP and Super Deluxe Box Set Art Edition formats out on May 3.
Dubbed An Evening With David J, the tour begins on the album's release day, Friday May 3, with a one-of-kind event at the Bodecker Foundation in Portland, Oregon titled Enter the Attic: an Evening with David J. This will be a tiered ticketed event featuring an interview and Q&A with David and moderator Jeffrey Clark (Shiva Burlesque/IPR), a two-part live performance (solo acoustic and full band) that will find David J performing from the bottom of the iconic Bodecker skate pool (already seen on the Stephen Colbert Show and known for its incredible acoustics and striking design), plus a screening of music videos and a private viewing of David's original paintings, some of which are also included in the lush deluxe box set edition of Tracks From the Attic. Indie band Gamblers have shared their latest single, "Running From My Grave" off of their upcoming sophomore album Pulverizer, out March 29, 2024. The band has also shared a music video for the track.
