Avenged Sevenfold successfully launched the 2024 leg of their renowned Life Is But a Dream... North American Tour last night in Buffalo, NY, on March 6. The tour is a follow-up to their incredible 30-date run in 2023.
Returning to Buffalo, NY, for the first time in 10 years, the group added five new songs to their setlist for 2024 including "Cosmic", a fan favorite from their new album Life Is But a Dream...; the iconic track "Shepherd of Fire," as well as the first live performance of "Save Me" in 13 years; the first live performance of "Blinded in Chains" in 18 years; and the live touring debut of "Roman Sky" from their seventh studio album The Stage. As anticipation continues to grow for their long-awaited 5th studio album, Only God Was Above Us, Vampire Weekend have released the debut episode of their new podcast, Vampire Campfire. Hosted by Ezra Koenig, Chris Baio and Chris Tomson, and captured on a trio of Ikegami ITC-730AP cameras, the podcast will be released semi-regularly for the foreseeable future. Fans who tune in will be invited behind the scenes into a longstanding and formerly private Vampire Weekend ritual: the frequent campfire chats where Baio, CT and Koenig convene to discuss and brainstorm all things VW-and so much more. Observant listeners will spot the occasional Easter egg, while all will be treated to advance insights into the upcoming Only God Was Above Us album and tour - and will be invited to witness as the band members reminisce about the past and discuss important matters in the present, ranging from tour openers, set lists and the potential of a future album called The 40-Year-Old Email, to such controversial topics as the dominant type of taco shell and The Real World vs Road Rules. Little Feat, one of rock's signature and most acclaimed bands, are inviting everyone to join them over at Sam's Place. Due out May 17 on Hot Tomato Productions/MRI. It marks the band's first new studio album in 12 years, first-ever blues album and the first one to feature linchpin conga player Sam Clayton on lead vocals on every song. This joyously blues-soaked party gets started today (March 7) with the album's first single/video "You'll Be Mine," a cover of the Willie Dixon-written chestnut popularized by Howlin' Wolf.
The members of Little Feat 2024 are: Bill Payne, Keyboards and Vocals; Sam Clayton, Percussion and Vocals; Fred Tackett, Guitars and Vocals, Kenny Gradney, Bass; Scott Sharrard, Guitars and Vocals; and Tony Leone, drums and vocals. Their individual musical chops and collective chemistry light up the nine-track SAM'S PLACE, which was waxed at Sam Phillips Recording in Memphis, TN (August 2023), except for "Got My Mojo Working (Live)," recorded live at the Boulder Theatre in Boulder, CO (December 17, 2022). "'My Immortal' is a song I've loved dearly since I first heard it in high school," says Rory Rodriguez. Veteran California singer-songwriter-guitarist JEFF LARSON has shared the lyric video for "Something of A Dream" ahead of the single's release this Friday (March 8). With its warm California rock-rooted sound, the track marks the first release from the melodically sparkling ADOBE HOME album and features Gerry Beckley of AMERICA, who co-produced the 13-track disc with LARSON, on bass, electric lead guitar and organ. The album is out April 26 on Nashville-based Melody Place.
LARSON wrote eight of the songs on ADOBE HOME: two with legendary songwriter Jack Tempchin (of the Eagles' "Peaceful Easy Feeling" fame); one with Beckley, and one with Robert Lamm of Chicago. It's an album with subject matter that touches on people, places, and things with styles ranging from Americana, folk-rock, power pop, and some jazz elements.
