Metallica took home this year's Pollstar Awards Rock Tour Of The Year honor during the ceremony this past Wednesday (February 7th) at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles, where Lars Ulrich was on hand to accept the honor.

The veteran metal band were up against Foo Fighters, Blink-182, Bruce Springsteen, Paramore and Dead & Company for this year's Pollstar Rock Tour Of The Year award. (continue)

Lynyrd Skynyrd's Rickey Medlocke says that there has been discussion within the group about the possibility of doing an "all-star" album, the wake of the death of founding member Gary Rossington.

Jim Licka from Umbra & the Volcan Siege tells us about "Hercules" from 'His Side' of the album: "Hercules" is my "Chicago, I love you" anthem. It is my warmup song to get me pumped before a big show. It's a feeling of "anything is possible" and is fueling my strength and character. It is a shout out to Frank Zappa as I used "Cruisin' for Burgers" as my opening lyric in tribute to his tune of the same name (from the Mothers of Invention album 'Uncle Meat'). (continue)
