Billy Joel has released his first new single in decades entitled "Turn The Lights Back On", that is available via the major streaming platforms along with a lyric video on YouTube.
The song was produced by GRAMMY-nominated songwriter and producer Freddy Wexler and written by Wexler, Arthur Bacon, Wayne Hector, and Joel, according to Columbia Records. (continue)
AC/DC have hit a new milestone of YouTube with the online video streaming service showing that their classic "Back In Black" has surpassed over a billion views, giving the legendary band their second clip that is part of YouTube's "One Billion Views Club".
The official 4K video for title track to the band's blockbuster 1980 album is far ahead of other tracks from the record, "You Shook Me All Night Long" has 317 million views, "Hells Bells" has 273 million, while "Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution" has 23 million views. (continue)
UMe/Republic Records will release James Brown's We Got To Change, a three-track EP featuring the previously unheard title track, on Feb. 16. "We Got To Change" was recorded August 16, 1970, at Criteria Studios in Miami, during a pivotal period in the world of James Brown, as longtime members of his famed James Brown Orchestra had walked out a few months earlier.
Brown quickly assembled a new group anchored by guitarist Phelps "Catfish" Collins and bassist William "Bootsy" Collins, two young brothers from Cincinnati. They brought a harder edge and a fresh identity to Brown's music on such singles as "Get Up (I Feel Like Being) a Sex Machine," "Super Bad," and "Soul Power." Brown called them The J.B.'s. (continue)
Deap Vally have released their final record, a re-recorded version of their final album, entitled "SISTRIONIX 2.0," and they have also revealed their Live for the Last Time North American tour in February and March and in the UK and Europe in May/June.
The double LP will include demos, previously unreleased covers, re-recordings of limited release b-sides and rarities and more. Deap Vally have released "Ain't Fair (Deap Vally's Version)" taken from the album as a single. (continue)
Yellowcard and ambient post-rock duo Hammock have teamed up for a new album called "A Hopeful Sign", which comes out February 9th via Equal Vision. The album is a collaboration between the bands reimagining Yellowcard's most memorable tracks. Blending atmospheric ambiance and pop-punk hooks with a lighter and refreshing sound.
On top of the album announcement, they released a video for the reimagined single "Ocean Avenue" creating a more delicate approach to the well-known pop-punk track. (continue)
California rockers Silent Planet have released a music video for the title track to their new album, "SUPERBLOOM", which arrived last year via Solid State Records.
"We decided to make a video around an alternate interpretation of our title track 'SUPERBLOOM' that is largely inspired by Midsommar and the Heaven's Gate cult suicides," the band shares. "We teamed up with our longtime video partners Hometown Team, and collaborated on the story. (continue)

Jeff Larson will release his first solo full-length album in a decade-the melodically sparkling and CA-themed Adobe Home-April 19 via Nashville-based label Melody Place. Produced by the veteran California singer-songwriter with Gerry Beckley of America, the album will be launched March 8 with the Larson composition "Something of A Dream." The 13-track album comes on the heels of IT'LL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN, the veteran singer-songwriter's acclaimed 2023 six-song tribute EP to the late iconic singer and songwriter Tim Hardin.
Larson wrote eight of the songs on Adobe Home: two with legendary songwriter Jack Tempchin (of the Eagles' "Peaceful Easy Feeling" fame); one with Beckley, and one with Robert Lamm of Chicago. It's an album with subject matter that touches on people, places, and things with styles ranging from Americana, folk-rock, power pop, and some jazz elements. (continue)
