Beloved, Portland pop/indie-rock trio Gossip returns with Real Power, their first album in 11 years, set for release on March 22, 2024, on Ultra Records and they are giving fans their first taste of the effort with the release of the new single "Crazy Again".
The album marks a reunion with acclaimed producer Rick Rubin, who helmed the band's pivotal 2009 album Music For Men. At the coaxing of Rubin, the band started recording in 2019 after completing a tour for the ten-year anniversary of Music For Men. Recorded at Rubin's home studio in Kauai, the process was temporarily halted by the pandemic and resumed when restrictions lifted. The result is an 11-track celebration of the galvanizing might of music, the joy of creative expression, and the power of chosen family in the aftermath of collective and personal trauma. The timing is ripe for a Gossip reunion, and Real Power heralds a new maturity and renewed sense of purpose for the trio. "When we began, so much about Gossip was about running away-that was always in the music," says Ditto. "We survived. We came from nothing, and we got the f*** out of there. And to be here 20 years later and still making music together is just incredible." (continue)

Post Profit have shared the visualizer for "Two Toxic" to celebrate the release of their new six-song EP, Self Defeater, via SharpTone Records.
"With 'Two Toxic,' we wanted to do something different and show a more emotional side with what we call an 'anti' love song," the band says. "Lyrically, it touches on the feeling of being in love, but also highlights the negative effects that often come with it. We put aggressive driving guitars and accents up against gentle delicate moments to resemble that push and pull effect." (continue)

Melodic post-hardcore trailblazers Being As An Ocean have released their emotionally charged single, "Flesh & Bone," a powerful exploration of the duality between the pursuit of dreams and the yearning for home.
Providing further context for "Flesh & Bone," the band elucidates, capturing the essence of the new single, "Flesh & Bone seeks to describe the splitting of the soul that happens when one gives themselves to their passions, dreams, and obsessions. It is about the feeling of longing for home while being away, while also acknowledging that too much time spent in comfort is time taken away from the unknown, discovery, and adventure. The song is about missing loved ones from the road: the isolation that can be felt when you are away from your support network, especially when you are emotionally low. When the road has become a part of who you are or has shaped you in significant ways, no matter how much you hold those you love dear or how precious the time spent at home, the road still pulls at you and your spirit still hears its call." Brimming with trademark Chuck-isms, "Echo the Halls" keeps one foot firmly planted in the punk tradition that carried him through a majority of his musical career as co-frontman of Florida's Hot Water Music and the other in the rootsy Americana of his solo career. With his distinctly rugged and warm vocals soaring anthemically above a propulsive rhythm section that complements his heart-on-his-sleeve lyrics, Chuck displays his music's innate immediacy, making him a beloved songwriter and a press darling.
