Steven Wilson shares a stunning new official music video for the brooding centerpiece of his recently released Top 5 UK charting album, The Harmony Codex, today. The clip for the claustrophobic and hypnotic "Beautiful Scarecrow" was directed and animated by long-term collaborator Jess Cope alongside Venkatram Viswanathan. Cope previously directed videos for Wilson's tracks "The Raven That Refused to Sing," "Routine," "People Who Eat Darkness," and "King Ghost." A gothic horror story set in a post-apocalyptic world where a deadly pandemic has led to the human race being divided, with the infected rounded up and forced to live in underground quarantine, Jess' extraordinary film continues to play on the mind long after the credits have run, showing how a simple gesture of kindness can resonate with profound meaning for years afterward.

"The video is a completely new approach for Owl House Studios," says Jess Cope. "I wrote the original idea with my partner Jonathan Main and in conjunction with Venky Viswanathan and Shaheen Sheriff, we decided to pursue a 3D animation route. Our aim was to build a computer-generated world but give it the 'feel and texture' of a stop-motion animation. As always, Steven's track was so exciting to work with, as the more you listen to the track the more your ears discover. The song has so much depth and richness, it allowed us to freely explore an intriguing visual narrative." (continue)

Polyvinyl Record Co. and Laura Jane Grace are excited to announce Hole In My Head, the Emmy-nominated artist, author, activist and musician's first offering since 2021's At War With The Silverfish. Recorded at Native Sound in St. Louis, MO with David Beeman and mixed by Matt Allison (The Lawrence Arms, Rise Against), Hole In My Head is a sonic curio cabinet containing multitudes - a showcase that features warm, '50s rock-influenced guitar riffs, saved-for-later lyrics, love letters to new surroundings, and thoughtful reflections on a punk life lived. Grace's commanding vocals are backed predominately by her performances on guitar and drums, and bolstered by Drive-By Truckers bassist Matt Patton, whose presence rounds out a full-band sound on over half the album.

Having already revealed the acclaimed fan favorite "Dysphoria Hoodie," Grace's raw ode to a particular type of armor, today she offers the title track to the album in the form of a thrilling music video directed by actor and photographer Gilbert Trejo (Machete, From a Son). An exhilarating escape from the mundane nature of our daily lives, "Hole In My Head" is a fuzzed-out and barreling, power-pop ripper that illustrates just how liberating the power of music can be. Theatrical rockers Wicked just released a music video for their song "Lost in The Dark", from their forthcoming album, "Sunburn". To celebrate we asked them to tell us about the track. Here is the story:

Only in darkness, can there be light. The metaphor certainly rings true for our state of the band as we entered a 2020 faced with a new reality of live music shutting down and our worlds changing. We met that challenge and decided to commit ourselves to some extensive recording with our 10-time Grammy winning producer / engineer Ignacio Molino. In the process we found our writing and ourselves evolving which was exemplified in songs like "Lost In The Dark." (continue)
