Sharon Osbourne has revealed the reason why she and her husband, legendary metal frontman Ozzy Osbourne decided to pull the plug on Ozzfest, the famed traveling metal music festival that ran for over a decade.
Ozzfest began as a two-day music festival in 1996 in Phoenix, AZ and Devore, Ca, and eventually evolved into a summer tour festival featuring some of the biggest names in hard rock and metal, as well as up and coming groups. (continue)
Shadows Fall have announced that they will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of "The War Within" album by playing a show at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ on March 16th.
"20 years... cannot believe it will 20 years since Shadows Fall dropped The War Within on the world, "says frontman Brian Fair. "This record changed my entire life and took me around the world. Broadside have released a music video for their new single "Bleu", which is a track from their forthcoming album, "Hotel Bleu", that is set to be released on November 10th via SharpTone Records

New Orleans-based blues-roots-rock quintet Honey Island Swamp Band, just released their sixth studio album, "Custom Deluxe", to celebrate we asked frontman, producer and multi-instrumentalist Aaron Wilkinson to tell us about the track "Gone". Here is the story:
I started writing this while driving our bus home to New Orleans overnight from somewhere we were playing up north. The chorus came to me first, and it was actually inspired by the harmonies in one of those old love songs from early 1950's rock and roll. The bus is the "ghost of glass and steel" in the first line. The sun was coming up as we crossed from Tennessee into Georgia; I changed that into sunset for the song. (continue)
