Greta Van Fleet have announced that they have added a new 12 date U.S. leg to their Starcatcher World Tour that will be hitting various markets across America next spring.
The new run of dates will feature support from Geese and will be kicking off on April 27th in St. Louis, MO at the Chaifetz Arena. The trek will wrap up on May 21st in Milwaukee, WI at the Fiserv Forum.
The group is launching the new tour in leg in support of their album "Starcatcher". Frontman Josh Kiszka said of the record, "Starcatcher is a dangerous and delightful expedition into a both violent and gentle dreamlike landscape. A purgatory of duality where brutality and beauty clash like a thunderstorm of stillness. (continue)
Within Temptation follow the release last week of their brand-new studio album Bleed Out with a provocative, zombie-vampire-gore-fest-splatter-horror video for their current single "Ritual," just in time for Halloween.
Brutal and brilliantly comedic, whilst calling to mind the work of legendary animator Ralph Bakshi and the Rotoscope school of animation, the video for "Ritual" calls out the behaviour of male sexual predators in the workplace, the street, the sports field, and more. What if women behaved as agressively as the men who seek to take advantage of them, and what if they fought back to exact a terrible revenge?
Singer Sharon den Adel says, "'Ritual' is a sexual song, about seduction and a woman taking power in a male-dominated world. It was inspired by watching Tarantino's movie From Dusk Til Dawn and is a light-hearted moment in our album, which focuses mainly on the political and repressive issues in the world. We have always wanted to do a horror-style video for Halloween, and this song gave us the perfect chance to do that, using AI-technology to create something truly awe-inspiring. But it also addresses some of the recent news-stories of men behaving badly and imagines what would happen if a bad-ass woman fought back in the most terrible way. So get ready for blood, violence, fangs, and humor. Happy Halloween to you all!" (continue)
Only very few songwriters and arrangers have succeeded in leaving their mark on several generations with their compositions and their performances. Omar Rodriguez-Lopez is one of these exceptional artists. His complete solo works from 2004-2024 will now be honored with an impressive vinyl box set.

After celebrating the digital release of his entire oeuvre in May 2021, Rodriguez-Lopez' Hamburg-based label Clouds Hill now takes the next step: These solo records will be made physically available for the first time in a unique vinyl box set. 57 albums, including records that have only been digitally available until now, and also two previously unreleased records. INXS band members Andrew, Tim & Jon Farriss, Kirk Pengilly, and Garry Gary Beers came together for the first time in six years last week for an intimate lunch event in Sydney, Australia, hosted by Universal Music (Australia) and Petrol Records, to celebrate their incredible contribution to the global music industry by reaching an astonishing milestone of 4 billion streams.
"It's truly mind-blowing that our music has been streamed over 4,000,000,000 times - and incredibly humbling," Tim Farriss reflects. "I'm grateful I'm not the one tallying them all! Our success can be attributed to crafting amazing songs as a band that's grown up together, made a pact, and devoted our lives to performing them. This achievement truly demonstrates the enduring relevance of our music to this day."
A special acknowledgment was also made to Michael Hutchence and Petrol Records Chairman and Founder, the late Chris Murphy, who guided INXS' music globally for decades and ensured INXS continued to evolve and generate new audiences for years to come. (continue)
Letters to Cleo have released a split 7-inch featuring the new songs "Bad Man" on the A-Side and "It's Sunny Outside" on the B-Side out today across all digital platforms and available on tri-color splatter vinyl that will be sold exclusively at their shows this fall. Following the November tour dates the vinyl version of the 7-inch will be available at letterstocleo.net
This 7-inch is the first new music offering from the band since the 2019 release of their holiday EP Ok Christmas. The music started to come together during writing sessions that Kay Hanley (vocals) and Michael Eisenstein (guitar) were having at Eisenstein's studio in Los Angeles prior to the pandemic. "We would get together and make these super quick demos that we always loved and in fact performed at last year's Cleo shows," says Michael. "Bad Man", which premiered on SiriusXM's 90's at 9 show last week during an interview Kay and Michael did with Lisa Loeb, is about a woman in an abusive relationship who takes matters into her own hands to end the abuse by murdering her partner. "It's Sunny Outside'' is an upbeat, fun, yet slyly dark song about how the unwavering good weather of Southern California can actually be oppressive. Both songs were produced by Billy Lefler at The Deathstar studio in Los Angeles.
The split 7-inch comes in advance of the band's annual fall homecoming tour. This year Letters to Cleo celebrates the 30th anniversary of the release of their seminal album Aurora Gory Alice, playing the album in its entirety on each of the fall dates including the annual set of shows at the Paradise in Boston. The album, along with Go!, Wholesale Meats and Fish, and their most recent EP releases Back to Nebraska and OK Christmas are all available on various vinyl formats at LettersToCleo.net. (continue)
Chelsea Wolfe has announces her new album, She Reaches Out To She Reaches Out To She, and presents its new single/video, 'Whispers in the Echo Chamber.' Wolfe's seventh studio album is a rebirth in process. It's a powerfully cathartic statement about cutting ties and an important reminder that healing is cyclical, not a simple linear process. As Wolfe explains, "It's a record about the past self reaching out to the present self reaching out to the future self to summon change, growth, and guidance. It's a story of freeing yourself from situations and patterns that are holding you back in order to become self-empowered. It's an invitation to step into your authenticity."
Hailed by Guitar World as "the queen of gothic industrial guitar," Wolfe has never been afraid to traverse genre or invent her own hybrids. She wrote and workshopped She Reaches Out To She Reaches Out To She with her longtime collaborators, multi-instrumentalist Ben Chisholm, drummer Jess Gowrie, and guitarist Bryan Tulao, before bringing them to producer Dave Andrew Sitek in early 2022. Together, they deconstructed the compositions, pushing the songs into uncharted waters where they were then transformed and reborn. The pieces found their final focus with Shawn Everett (The War On Drugs, SZA, Yeah Yeah Yeahs) who mixed the album, extracting the fine details from the vocals and blending them into the lush sonic production world where heavy guitars dissolve into trip-hop breaks and hushed vocals soar before final mastering by renowned engineer Heba Kadry.
Following lead single, 'Dusk,' 'Whispers in the Echo Chamber' ties together a number of elements Wolfe has explored in the past, rolling in dynamic waves between minimal synth and heavy, full-band moments. The swirling vocal textures of the song - run through Sitek's modular wall - are meant to reflect those persistent intuitive voices that start rising up within you when it's time to step out of the old and into the new. As Wolfe sings in the blistering track, she's "twisting the old self into poetry" and "bathing in the blood of who [she] used to be." (continue)

Just in time for Halloween, Grimzlee has just released a new spooky cyberpunk track called "Dark Red Room", and to celebrate we asked him to tell us about the song. Here is the story:
"Dark Red Room" is a track that was inspired by memories of waking up really late on Saturday nights as a kid. I would turn on the TV and Toonami would be on. Break Beat was a style of music that they would often use between shows. Thinking back on it, it had a cyberpunk feel. So I wrote a track that felt like a Cyberpunk rock song.
Lyrically, the song deals with being alone and processing your emotions after losing the person you thought would be the one. It can be a haunting and terrifying place in your head. Some would believe this comes from the dark internet lore of "Red Rooms" which deal with torture. This isn't what I had in mind when writing, but the metaphor slowly has become a bit fitting to me, simply because people torture themselves on the inside in these situations. I'm guilty of this self-torture too, which led to creating a song on the topic. (continue)

Spirit of Unicorn Music are delighted to announce a brand new single and video from District 97, to mark the launch of their new album Stay For The Ending which is now available worldwide.
The new single is the album's title track, Stay For The Ending and combines dual themes rooted in both the real world and in metaphor. The song's narrative addresses the ever-shifting, omnipresent threat of Covid-19 in its many variants and forms. The track also speaks to personal relationships, deceit and the breaking of trust. The band describe the song as being about "ghosts and flames, smoke and deception."
The track was written by band keyboard player Andrew Lawrence and vocalist Leslie Hunt (American Idol Female Vocalist Final 2007). Andrew comments, "In writing this song, I tried to fit within the existing D97 canon whilst also adding my own twist. I kept the form of the song pretty simple so that we could focus more of our energy on getting these very difficult unison lines as tight as possible." (watch the video and read more)
