Iron Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain revealed during a guest appearance on Trunk Nation that he is "85 to 90 percent back to strength" following the stroke that he suffered back in January of this year.

Nicko said, "I'd say I'm 85 to 90 percent back to strength, but I still have a little less dexterity with speed in my fingers. My fingers are the ones that... this is the last thing to strengthen up. But I had to change certain drum fills. Some fills that everybody knows me for on certain songs, I've had to improvise those at rehearsals to be able to actually play the songs.

"So now I'm starting to actually be able to kind of embrace it a bit more, and I can't do that live. I have to wait until we start doing some rehearsals again or whatever it is.

"I'm definitely getting stronger, and I've had great support from Rod (Smallwood / manager), the band, and all of the fans out there. They've shown me so much love, it's amazing." (continue)

Post Profit have premiered a music video for their new single "Drug Emporium". The track comes from their forthcoming six-song EP, "Self Defeater", which will be released by Sharptone Records on November 17th.

Atom Splitter shared these details: Visually, it's a youthful romp that will transport you back to those high school afternoons - when you headed for the skateboard and bike ramp as soon as the homeroom bell rang.

Musically speaking, if you dig The Deftones and Quicksand, you'll love Post Profit and their chunky post-hardcore sound. "This song is about the growing pains of growing up in the real world," the band explains. "While there's nostalgia in the music, the lyrics are about moving yourself forward and evolving. And since we're all fans of skateboarding, it only made sense to include it in the video." (continue)

Classic rock-inspired alternative rockers Thorslund have released a music video for their new single, "Hours To Go", a track that comes from the group's self-titled debut.

The album is a non-linear autobiographical rock opera that touches on themes ranging from religious extremism, ostracism, toxic relationships, as well as rebirth, looking for new love, and chasing dreams. The group creates songs that are fun and uplifting, despite the sincere lyrical content and focus on the light at the end of the tunnel, the dawn at the end of the night, and acknowledge that sometimes one must shed an old skin, or burn down the past to achieve truer and greater things on top of the ashes.

Founded by the Thorslund brothers, Jeff (vocals, guitar, bass) and Tom (drums, backing vocals), the co-founders reveal that the new single/video, is "a love song, set during the California wildfires when the smell of fire is in the air. It's about going out and finding love on a Friday night. " (read more and watch the video)

Instrumentally, the riffs are inspired by a classical 3/4 waltz, along with the memorable style that comes with the aggressive side of the melo-death genre."

Discussing the story behind the lyrics, they add: "Lyrically, the song is an interpretation of Aaron's earliest memories growing up after surviving a fire, which destroyed his home - leading up to a point in time where he decides to express himself through music, specifically metal."
