The Black Moods are excited to announce their new single, an electrifying cover of The Doors' 1970's hit "Roadhouse Blues," which features none other than The Doors' guitarist Robby Krieger himself and rock singer-songwriter Diamante.
Recorded at Krieger's Los Angeles studio, Love Street Sound, the band recorded the cover with most of the same gear used by The Doors in its original recording, keeping its nostalgic and gritty sound while allowing The Black MoodS to add their modern flair. The Black Moods-Josh Kennedy (vocals, guitar), Chico Diaz (drums), and Jordan Hoffman (bass)-have debuted the music video for "Roadhouse Blues (feat. Robby Krieger and Diamante)," which features live footage from the recording session. (continue)
Dirty Mondays - an atmospheric, live-fast, die-young experience that channels the degeneracy of CBGBs, the rebellion of the Sunset Strip, and the sensations and intensity that music can make us feel - have announced that Sum 41 drummer Zummo, will guest DJ at the November 6th event at Madame Siam in Los Angeles. In addition to his DJ set, Zummo will perform live, putting on a drum show for those in attendance.
Founders Paolo Casartello and Stefan Poole, who created Dirty Mondays to extend the weekend and start the week off positively with a group of strangers, brought in Zummo to help unite the community. "Having Zummo play our night in L.A. is special to us and our collective. We all grew up with Sum 41 soundtracking our lives, so they're one of our favorites! Sharing this night with him is gonna be epic!" Zummo agrees, confirming, "I'm so excited to rock with Dirty Mondays in Hollywood on November 6th, and I have a special set planned!" (continue)
Hollow Front have shared the video for "Will I Run?", a track from their forthcoming third album The Fear of Letting Go, that will be released on October 27 via UNFD.

Trouser Press Books is proud to release Backstage & Beyond Volume 2: 45 Years of Modern Rock Chats & Rants, the second anthology from award-winning music journalist Jim Sullivan, to be published in paperback and e-book. To celebrate the release of the book, Sullivan will be making several local appearances in Boston, including The Paradise on October 30, The Earfull on November 7, City Winery Boston on November 13, and Brookline Public Library on November 16.
Sullivan - a 2023 inductee into the New England Music Hall of Fame - spent 26 years writing for the Boston Globe and two decades more writing for national publications. He has interviewed and reviewed countless musicians, many of them multiple times. The second volume of his music-writing anthology focuses on artists who came to prominence in the 1970s and '80s: punk, new wave, post-punk, and beyond. In May 2023, DARKO (UK) tripped to Signal House Studios, Hatfield to record a live session with Tim Kramer; The result was two brand new tracks, and one re-imagined from the 2017 album, 'Bonsai Mammoth.'

The Problem With Kids Today are excited to share their new single "What Else Could I Say" and it's accompanying music video, which was directed by Kicker Pictures' Connor Rog. "What Else Could I Say" is the first track to be releases from the band's full-length debut album Born To Rock out on February 9, 2024.
On the song the band's Tate Brooks says, "'What Else Can I Say' is an indie punk anthem, written out of frustration both metaphorically and literally. It broke us out of a writer's block and set the bar for the rest of the album." (continue)

Heavy Psych Sounds Records sign Slower - the brand new project "playing Slayer slow and low" with members of Kyuss, Fu Manchu, Kylesa, Monolord, Lowrider and Year Of The Cobra - for the release of their debut album in early 2024!
About this collaborative project between major players from the international stoner and doom scene, Fu Manchu guitarist Bob Balch says: "The idea for the SLOWER project started around four years ago. I was teaching a student how to play "South Of Heaven" by Slayer but she was a beginner so we slowed it down. I thought that sounded cool so I tuned down to B standard and tried it. I added some drums and thought "someone in the doom community should do this and name it SLOWER." (continue)

After a decade defining, redefining, and perfecting their art, Fission finds Dead Poet Society poised to be rock's next breakout act.
