The 45th anniversary of Billy Joel's "52nd Street" album is being celebrated by the syndicated radio show In The Studio With Redbeard: The Stories Behind History's Greatest Rock Bands.
Here is the synopsis of the episode from Redbeard: William Martin Billy Joel has sold more albums in the U.S. than any pop/rock singer except for Elvis Presley. Superstar musicians in that rarefied league ( and many more only pretenders to it ) always surround themselves with gaggles of managers, "minders", assistants, agents, and promoters , and the size of the entourage doubles when they're on tour. I dwelled on the fact that a loving community is a rare thing, and I forget that not everyone has that gift. (continue)
