(hennemusic) Wolfgang Van Halen and his touring lineup of Mammoth WVH delivered an acoustic cover of the Foo Fighters classic, "My Hero", during a visit to OUI FM in Paris, France, and the radio station is sharing video of the performance.
When Wolfgang launched the project in 2021 with a self-titled debut album, he told Bass Player: "One of the biggest inspirations was Dave Grohl. When he started the Foo Fighters, he did everything himself on their first album. I wanted to have a go at that, I guess, and I've always admired bands like Nine Inch Nails, where the project emanates from one person and grows from there. That's kind of how I view it, even though it is still me. I view it more as a band than some sort of solo project." (continue)

Joe Bonamassa has released "Hope You Realize It (Goodbye Again)," the latest single from his forthcoming album Blues Deluxe Vol. 2. This original song, written by Bonamassa and Tom Hambridge, demonstrates the 26x Billboard chart-topper's commitment to innovation within the blues genre.
"This is a song that I wrote with Tom Hambridge, and we did a real Tower Of Power treatment on it," Bonamassa explains. "Now, the whole thing about 'Blues Deluxe, Vol. 2,' we tried to keep the same ratio of covers to originals as on Blues Deluxe, Vol. 1, so we needed an upbeat song and I had this song kind of laying around for over a year. Calvin Turner wrote a killer funky horn part, and we just did like a Tower Of Power take on it and made no apologies about it. It's just the nature of the groove and everything else - you have to tip the hat." (continue)
(hennemusic) Queen play vocal games with fans on the latest episode of the weekly series The Greatest Live. Freddie Mercury was the master of crowd interaction - and the bigger the audience, the better. In a clip from Queen's famous 1982 show at the U.K. Milton Keynes Bowl, the singer challenges the vast crowd to match his vocal acrobatics.
Of all the qualities that routinely see Mercury referenced among the greatest frontmen of all time, his ability to connect with a crowd was paramount. As revisited in recent episodes of The Greatest Live series, the band intentionally built a call-and-response element into many of their best-known tracks....but that wasn't enough for Freddie, who often bantered with the fans between songs - and even challenged entire stadiums to keep up with his a capella vocal ad-libs. Volbeat's Michael Poulsen has released a lyric video for Asinhell's new song "Desert Of Doom", from the group's forthcoming debut album "Impii Hora", which will arrive on September 29th.
For more than 20 years, vocalist/guitarist Michael Poulsen has been spearheading Danish rock and roll machine Volbeat, releasing eight full-lengths, selling millions of albums, and filling stadiums worldwide. Before fronting Volbeat, however, Poulsen formed death metal band Dominus, which recorded four fast, brutal albums in the mid '90s. When Poulsen was putting together songs for Volbeat's 2021 album, Servant of the Mind, he wrote a bunch of death metal riffs and saved them on his phone. Then, when he was done with the Volbeat record, he reopened the rusty gates to Armageddon and started putting together songs for his new death metal band Asinhell, whose debut album Impii Hora (Latin for "Ungodly Hour"), is a tribute to Poulsen's favorite old-school groups.
