On October 27th, Robin Trower is set to unveil 'Joyful Sky', a smoldering new album featuring the raw vocal prowess of Sari Schorr, released via the Provogue/Mascot Label Group. Celebrating this announcement, a lyric video for the lead single "Burn" has been released, offering fans a glimpse of what's to come. Always receptive to singers who can elevate his emotive guitar touch, the 78-year-old Trower heard a quality in the smoky power of the acclaimed New Yorker Sari Schorr that made him want to tear down and rebuild his songcraft around her. Pre-order the album HERE.

"I've worked with some great vocalists over the years but Sari is dynamite, just an absolute knockout," reflects Trower. "This album really pushed me, made me write in different keys and arrange songs for her voice. I went more down the R&B route this time, because I knew she'd be great with that flavour. But the blues still underpins everything I do - and there's definitely elements from my '70s stuff in this new album." (continue)

Michael Franti & Spearhead announce their 13th studio album Big Big Love, available November 3. "Everybody has the capacity to love. It starts with loving yourself, then loving your family and friends, your community and out into the world," shares Franti. "And it's not enough just to love and fight for the environment and then not take care of your family at home or vice versa. 'Big Big Love' is making sure you can do both. You can hold space for those that you love the most and for the whole planet, for all of humanity and out into the universe. I feel it's a message that needs to be heard more than ever."

Franti & Spearhead have released "Vibe Check (My Kinda Party)," already a fan-favorite anthem from this summer's live shows, as evidenced by Franti polling Soulrockers through social media on which track from the album to release with today's announcement. As an added bonus, "Out In The Sun" is also available now, originally written in 2022 as the perfect soundtrack for San Diego Tourism. (continue)

Thousand Foot Krutch is joined by Minneapolis' modern hard rockers New Medicine on the single "Down (2023)". The track is featured on Thousand Foot Krutch's first new project in over six years, The End Is Where We Begin: Reignited, which includes newly recorded performances from several of the band's musical peers morphed with the original tracks from TFK's hugely successful independent recording, The End Is Where We Begin.

"Already being a massive TFK fan, I was honored to get the call to collaborate," says New Medicine's Jake Scherer (aka Jake Rose). "I totally relate to 'Down' because I've always had a chip on my shoulder about people telling me I would never 'make it,' yet here we are. TFK has always been on the forefront of mixing hard rock with hip hop flows, which fits perfectly with the New Medicine sound. Proud of this collaboration!" (continue)

NYC-based prog metal up and comers Fall Of The Albatross just released their new album, "Rite", and to celebrate we asked Harold McCummings to tell us about one of the tracks. He selected "Glucose Guardian." Here is the story:

The title Glucose Guardian actually comes from a gender neutral term for "sugar daddy". Going back to the early days of the band, Colin and I kept a log of silly song titles that we hoped to one day use, and during the Rite writing sessions we were really digging into that. Some of the titles would eventually change, but Glucose Guardian was too good to leave on the table. (continue)
