Silent Skies, the cinematic project of Evergrey's Tom S. Englund and acclaimed US-based pianist/composer Vikram Shankar (Redemption, Lux Terminus), have just released the first of many official videos, "Construct", cut from their dream-like third studio album, 'Dormant', out September 1, 2023 via Napalm Records.
The album's shimmering opening track "Construct" calls for the listener to join the two musicians on a soulful journey, characterized by expansive atmospheres, iridescent textures, and contemplative lyrical introspection. From the very first note, listeners will get caught by the distinctive voice of Tom S. Englund, glimmering in yearning nuances and emotions spanning the gamut from despair to hope. Bonded with the instrumental majesty of Vikram Shankar, this is a maelstrom in which one will relish getting lost. Silent Skies present "Construct" together with an artistic and stately film, directed by American director Paul Moore and filmed by Moore and Patric Ullaeus, that beautifully and sincerely portrays that which really matters - just as Silent Skies does with their music. West coast Canadians, Vogue Villains, have released their brand new single "Floatin' Stone", an energetic alt rock song with funk influences, featuring the band's usual swagger and dramatic flair.

You know, anything to distract from the hard work you may need to do on yourself to become centered again. (continue)
Andrew X has released his newest single "Where Are You Now." The piano ballad calls on listeners to tell the people we love what they truly mean to us before they become a distant memory. Having found himself with words left unsaid, Andrew X bathes in the afterglow of what could have been, writing the song as a means to make peace with it all. Hoping he can encourage someone else to prevent his fate, Andrew X urges us not to hold back on what we feel--because one day, that particular person could be nothing more than a polaroid photo looking back at us.
"I wrote "Where Are You Now" after coming across an old picture of a dear friend from the past in a box of old photos," says Andrew on the new track. "Seeing the picture instantly took me back to how she made me feel when we were together. It also made me feel a fair amount of guilt about how I treated her, and a fair amount of regret due to the fact I never told her how I really felt about her, and how great of a person I really thought she was." Kelly Deco recently released his new album "Constellation". To celebrate we asked him to tell us about one of the tracks, and he selected "David Bowie's Brain". Here is the story:
Many Artists have shone long and bright while telling their artistic story and are now gone. The Kelly Deco "Constellation" record is intentionally aimed at what I call VictorianFuturism. Retro-futuristic outer-regions-of-space rock, love, and galactic fantasy, a constellation of old and new shifting figures moving through space with imaginary twists inspiring the future from the celestial past. Visitations that continue to look at how the now is a piece of everything gone before us. (continue)
