Slipknot's M. Shawn "Clown" Crahan took to social media to inform fans that will not be part of the band's upcoming shows because he needs to be home with his wife who is dealing with a medical situation.
He wrote, "Hello to all of our fans. Unfortunately I had to return back home to be with my wife due to her medical situation. Thank you for the overwhelming support for the few shows I was able to make. (continue)

(hennemusic) Metallica is sharing pro-shot video of a performance of the "...And Justice For All" classic, "Harvester Of Sorrow", from a June 8 appearance at the UK's Download Festival.
The lead single from the group's 1988 album followed opener "Creeping Death" as the second song in the first of two headlining sets the band would play at the annual event at Donington Park in Castle Donington. The 20th anniversary edition also presented Bring Me The Horizon and Slipknot as headliners over the course of the four-day event. (continue)
(hennemusic) Queen adapt songs for the concert stage on the latest episode of the weekly series The Greatest Live. For Queen, the stage and studio were two sides of the same coin. While their legendary hard rock anthems were practically built for live performances, some of the group's more intricate studio productions always seemed better-suited to headphones than the front row of a stadium.
But, there's also a third category - the songs that transcended their studio roots to become entirely different beasts live. "I think some songs are written with the idea of how it might sound live, like 'Sheer Heart Attack' for instance," says Roger Taylor. "I always thought that would go, that would play, if we play that fast, that will go live." (continue)
(hennemusic) Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds delivered their new single, "Open The Door, See What You Find", on the latest episode of the BBC Two series "Later...with Jools Holland", and the program is sharing video of the performance.
The tune is the fifth single from the band's newly-released album, "Council Skies", which Gallagher recorded at his Lone Star Recording Studios in London and co-produced with long-time collaborator Paul 'Strangeboy' Stacey. (continue)
(hennemusic) John Mellencamp is streaming his new album, "Orpheus Descending", in sync with its June 16 release. The rocker recorded and produced the 11-song project at his own Belmont Mall Studio in Indiana.
Mellencamp is about to wrap up his extensive 77-date "Live and In Person 2023" North American tour, with a few remaining dates through June 27. The tour has been getting rave reviews, with LA Weekly praising, "Mellencamp strode out looking for all the world like a Brando or a Paul Newman or a James Dean-a Misfit who managed to find his place in the world through his music," while the Dallas Observer describes that the show "made it clear Mellencamp is a true music legend, and from the sound of it, one that will continue to be making music for a long time to come." Argonaut are back with a brand new single 'Move Fast'. As would be expected from the London indie outfit, it's full to the brim with DIY fuzz-pop and wonky analogue synths. It marks the first official release from their open-ended album 'Songs From The Black Hat' - a rehearsal ritual that's led them to create an impressive stream of demos since the start of the year.
Nathan explains "At band practices we [Nathan Lyons, Lorna Lyons, Abby Werth & Deb Van der Geugten] each write song titles on slips of paper & put them in the hat. One is then picked at random. We jam around that title & see what alchemy occurs. Most times the magic flows & the combined band chemistry creates something we are really pleased with." (continue)
Devon lefty roots-punks Crazy Arm recently released their new single "Floating Bones". To celebrate we asked Darren Johns to tell us about the track. Here is the story:
'Floating Bones' was first conceived in 2017 when we were demoing songs for our last album 'Dark Hands, Thunderbolts' (which came out in 2021). There were very few lyrics written, and I wasn't happy with the chorus idea, so the song got bumped. Fast-forward to spring 2023 and we wanted to release a new single to coincide with our first tour of Canada. I composed a new chorus, re-worked the vocals, wrote brand new lyrics, re-tracked everything but the drums, and 'Floating Bones' was back in the game. (continue)
