When the music icon passed away in 1991, he left both his London house and its contents to his former girlfriend and lifelong friend Mary Austin; for three decades, Austin kept the house and its contents almost exactly as they were when Mercury died, but she has now decided to sell the collection. In what will be an exciting surprise for fans, a large portion of the new single features clean vocals from frontman, Chris 'Fronz' Fronzak for the first time on an Attila release.
Whilst pushing the boundaries of what has come before, the new song is still an undeniable ATTILA-level banger, maintaining their unique brand of powerful, intricate riffing, driving, ten-ton-heavy drumming and of course, it's fair share of Fronz's signature screaming. (continue)
Bristolian noise-pop three-piece Superlove has today announced their new album follow:noise is set to be released on June 2nd via European label Rude Records. The album features recent singles "GO!", "Something Good," as well as newly released single "Easier."
Speaking on their upcoming album the band shares,"Concept to follow:noise album is a lot of realization and reflection from the journey of our first album. Following up from our debut album we discovered a lot about the sound behind Superlove and what makes us the band we are and when we're at our best, we wanted to challenge ourselves to use less virtual instruments this time round and put the focus back into guitar. Lyrically the album tackles subjects such as reassurance, dependency and mental health." (continue)
Australian garage rock trio Cable Ties have shared "Change," a striking new preview of their upcoming album All Her Plans, due June 23 via Merge Records. A raw, unruly track driven by Nick Brown's insistent bass line and Jenny McKechnie's impressive vocal acrobatics, "Change" casts a lens on the residue of trauma left behind by patriarchal violence.
"['Change'] contrasts the traumatization of victim/survivors by the so-called justice system with the solidarity and hope I have found talking to mothers, friends and strangers who have connected with the songs I've screamed into the abyss," says McKechnie. (continue)

Rahway just released a music video for their explosive single "Carry You" and to celebrate we asked bassist Chigger to tell us about the track. Here is the story:
Guitarist David Cardenas brought the opening riff idea to rehearsal, and we attacked it immediately. It was extremely catchy and we felt that it needed an equally catchy hook, which singer Nick Hade and drummer / lyricist Steve Cardenas were able to craft. The main riff was screaming for Chigger's driving bass tone to accompany it, and within one rehearsal, we walked out with a brand new song called Carry You. (continue)

(hennemusic) Metallica is streaming an animated video for the "72 Seasons" track, "Crown Of Barbed Wire." Directed and animated by Corey Daigle, the clip is part of a series of videos for each song on the recently-released album, which was produced by Greg Fidelman and band members James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich and recorded at Metallica's HQ in San Rafael, CA in 2021 and 2022.
"72 seasons. The first 18 years of our lives that form our true or false selves," says Hetfield about the album title. "The concept that we were told 'who we are' by our parents. A possible pigeonholing around what kind of personality we are. I think the most interesting part of this is the continued study of those core beliefs and how it affects our perception of the world today. Much of our adult experience is re-enactment or reaction to these childhood experiences. Prisoners of childhood or breaking free of those bondages we carry." (continue)
Loosegroove Records recording artists, Seattle-based band, BRAD, are proud to announce the release today of their new song and the title track from the upcoming LP, In The Moment That You're Born.
SPIN exclusively premiered the video with Jonathan Cohen who noted, "The title track is one of the heavier Brad songs ever, with Smith singing in a lower register than usual atop Gossard and Keith Lowe's swirling guitar attack. Hagar says the song comes from a weekend recording session about five years ago and that Smith's vocal offers almost a gospel vibe. Sonically, it harkens back to Smith and Hagar's other project Satchel, which was often active in parallel with Brad in the '90s." (continue)

When the COVID-19 pandemic stopped the Earth from spinning for a few years, several musical projects unfortunately ended up lost in the shuffle. One of those projects was a killer studio album from Finnish superstar Andy McCoy called 21st Century Rocks. As McCoy explains, "the album came out shortly before they closed the borders due to the COVID situation. So we couldn't support the record with a tour, but we're happy to see it being re-released!" This month, in fact, the album is being reissued on all formats to give fans who missed it the first time around their shot at experiencing this magical release.
21st Century Rocks features a dozen pure blasts of whiskey soaked, nicotine-stained rock n' roll, all of which were penned by McCoy himself. The album kicks off with the title track, which blazes forth with one of McCoy's signature hypnotic guitar riffs. "Seven Seas" showcases some of McCoy's flamenco guitar playing and then kicks into a thoroughly modern, electro-tinged groove. Along the way, fellow Hanoi Rocks alumn Sami Yaffa joins in the fun as does The 69 Eyes drummer Jussi 69 and Amorphis's Niclas Etelävuori. This is an album that deserves the fair shot it never got, a soon-to-be classic from a veteran rocker who manages to revive the glory days of his youth while still looking toward the bright future ahead! Wesley Adams Cook just release his new single "Bluff". To celebrate the arrival of the new track, we asked him to tell us about the song. Here is the story:
Bluff is a song that I wrote after watching the show Billions, a series that follows the exploits of a major financial mogul.
The idea behind this song is twofold, but at its core it's about destructive addictive tendencies or what I also call avoidance tendencies. On one hand, it shows when the quest for more becomes a never ending mirage that never brings forth the ultimate satisfaction one thinks it might. It also illustrates when that pursuit alters your behavior to where you are doing harm to yourself and others and sacrificing your humanity and morality at the altar of gaining more. It can become a cycle where, as the chorus suggests, keeps thrilling you while it keeps killing you. (continue)
