Foreigner celebrated April Fool's Day by sharing a "spoof" on social media claiming that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame held a special meeting to nominate the band for induction.
Their manager, Phil Carson, shared a follow-up post on Sunday (April 2nd) to explain the spoof, and the irony of the joke. The original post read, "In an unprecedented move, the entire board of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame met especially to nominate Foreigner. The board recognized that Mick Jones' and Foreigner's major contribution to music over the years warranted a very special place in the history of the Hall Of Fame. Said manager Phil Carson, "Needless to say, we are all delighted to learn of this unique privilege. I believe that the entire board realized that Foreigner had as many hits as Fleetwood Mac, just one less than the Eagles, and more than Journey and many other Hall Of Fame alumni. We are greatly looking forward to the induction ceremony." (continue)

The track marks the latest preview to the forthcoming package, "KISS - Off The Soundboard: Poughkeepsie, New York, 1984", which captures the group's short-lived lineup of Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Eric Carr and guitarist Mark St. John in November 1984 at the Mid-Hudson Arena as part of the band's Animalize world tour.

Not taking his foot off the gas, Sex Pistols bassist and Rock Hall Of Fame inductee Glen Matlock has released another timely and rockin' digital-only single titled "This Ship" to all major streaming services and digital retailers.

"Another song, maybe the last to be written in the lead up to my new Consequences Coming album that deals with where it's at." says Matlock. "It seems to me that the operatus morandi of today, is that if you ain't with us, you are against us. Well, since our turgid government has destroyed all sense of patriotism in my regard for England's once green and pleasant land, I am firmly, as many others are, in the against camp and 'that's why', as it spells out in the joyful cadences of the song's bridge, I feel the need to watch my back and take immediate steps towards pastures new." Glen continues, "Fab Hammond courtesy of James Hallawell too." (continue)
The War & Treaty join Trailblazers Radio with Fancy Hagood on Apple Music Country to celebrate the release of their album "Lover's Game" and Fancy toasts to love as he talks about some of his favorite country music couples. Stream the episode here. 2b sent over these excerpts:
The War & Treaty Tell Apple Music How They Got Their Name...: Michael Trotter: Oh boy. This is a great question. Arguing. About changing the name for the eighth time? Oh my God. I was like, "I don't like that name." She goes, "Michael, I told you that this is not how you become professional. You have to stick with one name." I'm like, "well, we are. I just don't want to stick with that one name." And we wanted to have something just that meant something. And I was like, you know what? We have to have the word war in it. Because we literally were massive fans of the Civil Wars...So that's how we did that. And we were arguing about it and Tanya said, "you know what, Michael, this is not the war because I'm a war vet. And she's like, this is not the war and we need to come to some sort of treaty." (continue)

Rahway is ready to hit those dark alley streets once more, to defend their title as The Slumlords of New Jersey with their newest single, "Carry You." Right from the moment, lead singer Nick Hade provides that smooth yet aggressive bite - the listener knows they're in for a decadent rock treat. "If you're listening to Rahway then you know rock'n'roll ain't dead," says Tommy London of SiriusXM/Boneyard/Hair Nation. Brass knuckles out and chains swinging, "Carry You" pulls you in.
Then there are those opening riffs courtesy of guitarist David Cardenas, who also adds, "[It's] thunderous with ball-shaking bass and drums." But the axe-man knows his way around his weapon of choice and he does not hold back; showcasing talent reminiscent of Stone Temple Pilots and Slash. (continue)
The Exploding Hearts have announced an expanded and remastered reissue of their beloved sole studio album, Guitar Romantic, due May 26, 2023 via Third Man Records. A new mix of fan-favorite track "I'm A Pretender," remixed in 2022 by since-departed erstwhile member "King" Louie Bankston, is available to stream now via all DSPs.
In the twenty years since its release - and the subsequent tragic deaths of three of the four band members in a van accident later that same year - Guitar Romantic has outgrown its onetime "cult" status to become an immortal touchstone of the genre. Adored the world over for its vivid depictions of young love and reckless abandon, alongside its effervescent combination of influences like the Buzzcocks, Undertones, Nick Lowe and more, Guitar Romantic is an undeniable statement from a band gone entirely too soon. The expanded & remastered reissue brings a welcome dose of new life to an album all-too-often associated with death, and with it, plenty of old favorites and unheard gems for fans to rejoice about. Third Eye Blind is sharing a live version of "Funeral Singers" from their upcoming concert film, Live at Red Rocks, recorded June 27, 2022. The band is on tour now in the US and Canada in support of their latest albums, Our Bande Apart (2021) and Unplugged (2022).
"During the pandemic my musical tastes changed pretty radically," says Stephan Jenkins. "I found myself responding to music that spoke to isolation and singularity of that moment. I thought Sylvan Esso's version of "Funeral Singers" was so spot on to the condition of people losing their ability for connection, that they wrote it specifically to reflect their pandemic experience. So it went onto my lockdown playlist. The pulsing cadence of the vocal put a whole different rhythm for it in my head. One that I can only describe as a healthy dose of Judas Priest!" (continue)

Montreal rockers Your ex and I recently shared a lyric video for their "Heartbreaker By Design", a single from their "YXNI" EP. To celebrate we asked them to tell us about the track. Here is the story:
"Heartbreaker by Design" is our most raw and vulnerable track on the EP. It was the first tune we ever wrote, and was very much a way to cope with the end of a 2 year traumatic relationship. Our lead singer was with a girl that was leading a double life, living with him while slipping away and still dating her ex during so-called business trips and therapy sessions. When questions were raised, she faked receipts, emails, notes, texts and even a fake online phone number to try and get away with it all. After she thought that she'd gotten rid of all evidence, she demanded he look at her phone to prove she wasn't lying. No one ever thinks of clearing their sent emails, though... (continue)
