Saliva's publicist, O'Donnell Media Group, sent over this sad update on Wayne Swinny: It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Wayne Swinny, the guitarist of Saliva. Wayne passed away this afternoon from a Spontaneous brain hemorrhage while on tour promoting their new single "High on Me." Wayne will be missed by all those who knew him.
"I'm not even sure what to think or how to feel right now. My heart aches for Wayne's family, his friends, and anyone who had the joy of being around him. My heart aches for his daughter Nikki. He loved that little girl so much. He was a Guitar Hero onstage with all the Rock 'N' Roll swag that most guitar players dream of. Offstage he was a proud father, an Ancient Aliens expert, and an incredible human who had zero enemies! He would go out of his way to make sure you had a good time. I'm grateful that I got to share almost 12 years of my life with Wayne on the stage and most importantly off the stage. He was the older brother I never had. I learned so much from him and we had a f***ing blast together! I will cherish it all for the rest of my life! God Bless you Wayne. I know we'll meet again!!" - Bobby Amaru (continue)

Melbourne's The Murlocs have released a video for their new song "Initiative", which is the lead single to their just announced brand new studio album, Calm Ya Farm, due out May 19 on ATO Records. Following their 2022 garage-psych opus Rapscallion, the band initially set out with a vision of creating a quintessential country-rock record: inspired by iconic albums like The Byrds' Sweetheart of the Rodeo as well as the hazier edges of the mid-'70s British pub-rock scene. Spiked with The Murlocs' signature breed of sharply crafted garage-punk-and with lead vocalist, guitarist & harmonica triple threat Ambrose Kenny-Smith's surrealist musings on the ever-turbulent world around him-the new collection ultimately twists country-rock convention into a free-flowing album fully in touch with the frenetic energy of modern life.
Recorded in their home studios and mixed by repeat collaborator John Lee, Calm Ya Farm brings that sun-drenched sound to tracks like lead single "Initiative": a sweetly raucous anthem for growing up without completely shaking off your reckless side. Released today alongside an official video, Kenny-Smith explains, "It's about recognizing the need to start taking responsibility for your life instead of always living in the now and killing all your brain cells along the way. Not everyone wants the big family and the big house with the white picket fence. Everything happens for a reason and sometimes you need to take things more seriously and make a few power moves in life to find out what comes next in the crystal ball." (continue)

Sarah Who? always has a song with a message, like her new single and video for, "Fresh Meat Rockstars" dropping March 31, 2023. The single features Tarah G. Carpenter (vocals, guitar, backing vocals, bass, drums) and Jason Orme (guitar).
Carpenter says, '"Fresh Meat Rockstars" is about the relationship between bands. The past few months we have toured a lot and met all types of artists on festivals and on the road. Some of those musicians are a lot younger than us now and there are others who have had a lot more experience than us. Regardless, we all learn from each other because our journey is completely different. Yet, sometimes, some of those bands feel threatened, or have some type of "rockstar" attitude, forgetting that we have all started somewhere, and that, nothing is permanent, especially a career in the entertainment industry." Blues rooted rock n' roller Freedom Heartsong just released his new single and video "Will Power", and to celebrate we asked him to tell us about the track. Here is the story:
'Will Power' is exceptionally special to me, as it really exemplifies the heart and soul of my musical sound. That stompin', bluesy, swampy goodness is prolific in many of my favorite influences, and I wanted the entirety of the song to have that feel. The intro came to me a while back, while I was going through all sorts of tough times in life. It was kind of a personal anthem and mantra for a bit, reminding me that whatever comes, I won't give up or quit, and will carry on with persistence and determination. (continue)
