(Glass Onyon) Cleopatra Records announce the dynamic return of Larry Wallis, the legendary co-founder of Motorhead and a former member of UFO, in the shape of two dramatic fresh remixes of one of his most beloved compositions, the metal anthem "Leather Forever."
A savage reminder of one of British metal's true unsung heroes, "Leather Forever" spotlights not only the excoriating guitar that was Wallis's trademark, but also the songwriting that underpinned the very best of early Motorhead. In fact, it's not hard to imagine "Leather Forever" lining up alongside any of them. Talking a few years before his death in 2019, Larry remembered writing it "around the same time" that he was a member of Motorhead, before recording it in late 1977 as a possible follow-up to his solo hit "Police Car." The song "Afterthought" was anything but. My partner Todd Long was inspired to write an "album opener" with similar energy to our song "Tonight" off our previous record, "No Saints in the City". Todd accessed his love for punchy, concise, pop-punk and created a riff that delivered the energy he was looking for and we began to build the song from there. (continue)

(Earsplit) New Jersey-based Voidscape have shared a lyric video for their new track, "Burden Of Breathing", the lead single from their forthcoming debut EP, "Odyssey Of Spite," which will arrive on March 31st.

The EP was engineered, mixed, and mastered by Rob Torres at his own Frightbox Recording in Passaic, and completed with artwork, photography, and layout by Mike Ximenez. (continue)
New Orleans indie-rockers Mighty Brother recently released an AI-generated music video for "Weighed Down" from their new album "Azimuth", and to celebrate we asked Nick Huster and Ari Kirkman about the song. Here is the story:
Ari: "Weighed Down" took on many shapes before we arrived at the final version. I think I wrote the opening lick and some lyrics back in December 2019. It was in 4/4 then, and we went back and forth about which parts of the song were in the odd time signature almost up to the day we went into the studio if I remember right. I dug up some early voice memo recording from December 2019 that was going in a real strummy, folk direction, but a loop I made in March 2020 using a vocoder and synth sounds straight out of Porcupine Tree's repertoire (continue)
