Skateboard legend Tony Hawk is making special plans to mark what would have been late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain's 56th birthday on February 20th, using a very special skateboard deck that he acquired at auction.

The deck once belonged to Cobain and features Kurt's hand-painted version of the iconic Iron Maiden mascot Eddie that was featured on the legendary metal group's 1981 sophomore album "Killers".

The Sims skateboard deck is a Jeff Phillips model, and sadly the 1980s skate icon took his own life on Christmas 1993, a few months before Cobain committed suicide in April of 1994. (continue)

Linkin Park has claimed the top spot on Billboard's Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, with the their recently released "Lost" single, which is the first track to debut at No. 1 on that chart in over a decade.

The song, featuring late vocalist Chester Bennington, dates back to the sessions of the band's 2003 album, "Meteroa", and was recently discovered and will be included on the forthcoming "Meteroa 20th Anniversary Edition".

"Lost" was released as a single earlier this month and during the first week of release, and Billboard reports that it "earned 10.1 million audience impressions, according to Luminate," giving the song the best weekly impression count for any track since October of 2019 when Lana Del Rey's "Doin' Time" had 10.5 million. Crazy Horse has always been a band that was meant to be. Formed in the late 1960s as rock & roll was beginning to take a turn into the '70s, the band (Ralph Molina, Billy Talbot and Danny Whitten) had started playing with Neil Young, and, though they didn't know it then, were going to make history for 50-plus years. And while it is no surprise that Crazy Horse has continued on that quest, it is an exciting continuation of their storied career that the group is releasing ALL ROADS LEAD HOME on March 31, 2023.

It is a statement of power and purpose on what rock & roll bands can accomplish as the decades pass and musical growth continues. In so many ways, Crazy Horse exists as a party of one in the way they have created something so uniquely original and completely within their own world. (continue)

Laylines recently teamed up with Rian Cunningham and Glo for new single "For Whom Doth the Light Turn?", and to celebrate we asked Caleb Gatling to tell us about the track. Here is the story:

It's kind of funny but I got the name way before I ever had a song to go with it. I have a note in my phone of things that have been said around me or funny ideas that I think would make a great title and one day on our way back from some function, my fiancé and I pulled up to a light where both our lane and the cross traffic lane had red lights and she proclaimed "For Whom Doth This Light Turn?" And I thought it was the goofiest thing I had heard in a while so I knew it had to be a title as well as the fact that it is very reminiscent of the popular novel Ernest Hemingway's "For Whom The Bell Tolls" (continue)
