Slipknot Give Fans Treat With Surprise Video Release For New Song

Slipknot decided to give their fans a Halloween treat with the release of a brand new song called "All Out Life" along with a music video for the track directed by band member M. Shawn Crahan.

Frontman Corey Taylor had this to say about the new track, "'All Out Life' is a song that is trying to do 2 things - bring everyone together, but also remind everyone that the past is not something to be discarded with disdain.

"People are so eager to find the Next Big Thing sometimes that they sh*t all over the bands and artists that have come before, thus making the past feel disposable, like a dirty thing. F*** that - why should we pay attention to your mediocre future when you can't be bothered to celebrate an amazing past? I'd rather listen to a guaranteed hit than a forced miss. 'All Out Life' is the anthem that reminds people that it's not the date on the music- it's the staying power."

The video can be streamed here and Clown, aka M. Shawn Crahan, had this to say, "Right now is a very exciting time for Slipknot. We've been working on new music for the last two years, and 'All Out Life,' the song and the video, is just one of many concepts in the works. It's a fitting taste to get you to the next thing. Get ready for what's to come. We challenge you to All Out Life."

Underoath And Kayzo Release New Collaboration 'Wasted Space'

Kayzo marked Halloween (October 31) with the release of a brand new rock collaboration called "Wasted Space" which features a team up with the band Underoath.

The producer had this to say about the song, "'Wasted Space' is everything you wouldn't expect from an electronic producer like myself and a legendary band such as Underoath. This is a head-on collision of sonic frequencies and sounds from different sides of the musical world. This is true experimentation in its rawest form.

"When I was told of the opportunity to work with Underoath, it brought me back tomy hockey days prior to music. Their album They're Only Chasing Safety was on heavy rotation for me during my athletic career. It was a perfect opportunity to put to test the idea I have been pushing forward of theblurring of worlds and sonic sounds of my youth in rock, pop punk and my love for electronic music."

Underoath added, "Kayzo is super excited about music and this track and that's why we are so so excited about it. It's refreshing these days and in this time see someone as excited as he is about music." Check it out here.

Bowie/Iggy/Rundgren Sideman Hunt Sales Returns With New Album

Hunt Sales, who is best known as a work as a sideman for Todd Rundgren, Iggy Pop and David Bowie (including being a cofounder of Tin Machine), is putting his sideman status aside with the launch of Hunt Sales Memorial's new album "Get Your SH** Together" on January 25th. We were sent the following details -

"I'm gonna f***ing tell you who I am," says Sales with gruff candor. "What I really am is my kids' father and my wife's husband. And I'm a heroin addict. A bad heroin addict for 40 years. I've been a crackhead. And I've been a criminal. Those are the facts. But I don't do drugs anymore. I'm sober now. All I do is make music - so let's not be late for the show."

In a career that began when he was teen in the mid-'60s, Sales has seen and done it all. Beyond his impressive rock and roll c.v. he's played blues for the legendary Lowell Fulson, recorded with funk master Bootsy Collins, jammed out with Tex-Mex all-stars Los Super Seven, devoted himself to mastering organ trio music and Dixieland jazz, and served up songs across the spectrum for film and TV. If there's a professional or creative path to explore, Sales has traveled it.

Grand Magus Share Video From Recording Studio

Grand Magus are giving fans a little taste of their work on the follow up to the to their 2016 album "Sword Songs" with the release of the first video trailer from the recording studio.

The group is currently at Sweetspot Studio in Sweden to kick off the recording process with producer Staffan Karlsson (Arch Enemy Firewind, Spiritual Beggars). Watch the trailer here.

Singer/guitar player JB had this to say, "The Magus is back in the studio to record the ninth album. It's been a very special process this time. We decided to let go of the current philosophy to record drums first and then bass and then guitar etc.

"This time we met up, jammed and created together during the last six months with the goal to record basic tracks live. That basically means the thing we do every time we play live. When we do that, we play together. It's music after all, not a science project. This led us to use the studio you see in the video. We recorded take by take (usually first takes, haha) until the groove, feel and violence was right. Now we will start with the overdubs, solos and vocals. We are chuffed and we think you will be too. Metal victory!"

Magnum Announce Live At The Symphony Hall Album

Magnum have announced that they will be releasing "Live At The Symphony Hall" on January 18th, 2019 as 2CD DigiPak, 3LP Gatefold, download and stream. We were sent the following details:

Every music lover knows that the closing concert of a long tour is always a very special event. For weeks in advance the audience has been able to read up on how much the band has been celebrated in their previous concerts evening after evening and they are all the more excited to see their heroes with their own eyes. After having played those numerous concerts, the band is in excellent shape, perfectly attuned to one another and of course they want to outdo themselves with this final show. One of those tour finales took place on 19 April 2018 inside Birmingham's Symphony Hall. It was there that the British rock band Magnum completed their Road To Eternity tour, which consisted of 42 concerts, and performed at the highest level.

"A truly magical evening", guitarist Tony Clarkin confirms, "especially seeing as the show was a sort of home game for us, since all of us are from around the area between Birmingham and Wolverhampton, although during the last 20 years we have performed in Birmingham only once. In this respect it was a special moment for Magnum in more than one way." According to the occasion, band members Tony Clarkin, vocalist Bob Catley, bassist Al Barrow as well as their two newest members keyboarder Rick Benton and drummer Lee Morris confidently played their way through a well-chosen mix of classics and newer songs, which rather successfully join the ranks of the band's long tradition of atmospheric rock songs.
