The Guns N' Roses leader stepped in to help AC/DC complete the final 2016 dates of their world tour in support of 2014's "Rock Or Bust" when the trek was temporarily halted after singer Brian Johnson was advised by doctors to stop performing in arenas and stadium-sized venues immediately or risk total hearing loss.
"Speculate all you want, but I've said it before and I'll say it again: AC/DC will continue with Axl on vocals - new album, touring, the whole nine yards," writes Engleheart on Facebook. "What was a massive gamble by Angus turned out to be an equally enormous triumph that has set the scene for the future."
One of Australia's most respected music writers with a career that spans more than a quarter of a century, Engleheart wrote the 2006 biography "AC/DC Maximum Rock and Roll: The Ultimate Story Of The World's Greatest Rock and Roll Band."
The biographer's comments mirrors similar speculation about the pairing last year by Noise 11's Paul Cashmere following multiple guest appearances by Angus Young during Guns N' Roses Australian tour.
"The chemistry between Axl Rose and Angus Young has inspired Angus to start planning another AC/DC record," reported Cashmere, "but Guns N' Roses touring commitments throughout 2017 will make it difficult to finalize the project."
During an interview event in London, UK in June of 2016, Rose revealed that he was planning new music with Guns N' Roses and, possibly, AC/DC as well.
"We are working on new stuff," explained Rose. "I've got a lot of stuff together, and I played some stuff for Slash and Duff and they liked it. And Angus and I are talking about working together. So we'll see." Read more

The new studio effort will feature 12 tracks and is the follow up to the group's 2004 effort "eMOTIVe". Frontman Maynard James Keenan had this to say, "Although I'm extremely excited to finally be completing this album after a 14-year hiatus.
"I'm actually more excited that its intentional release date is serving a greater purpose. The 20th of April is Carina Round's birthday. She is a dear friend who is extremely difficult to shop for. Pressure off.
"Of course, I must also note that the potheads are gonna be thrilled that this album comes out on 4-20. May it serve as a glorious soundtrack to accompany all of the giggling and vexing sounds of nibbling and snacking. Fingers crossed, Cheech & Chong will be proud." Read more

I can't always remember how ideas or inspiration finds me but I can remember clear as anything how "Burn This House Down" came to be. I was on the phone with my friend who asked if I would mind writing some songs for him for a record he wanted to work on. Of course I was extremely flattered and said yes. I always like a challenge and any reason to write. It makes it fun when it's something like a project and you get to change up your motivation a little. I immediately got to work and started writing songs and in one day had made my way through quite a few.
I decided to put my guitar down and take a break and also put in a phone call to my dad just to check up on him. My parents were in the process of going through a divorce at this time and every time I called I always had to mentally prep to talk about things I was not ready to accept or face. We talked about how he was doing and how it was different in the house. The house itself hadn't aesthetically changed but the feelings inside of it were different. I was emotionally overwhelmed by the time I reached the end of the conversation. I went back, sat down and picked up my guitar and there it was. The song came pouring out of me as if I was playing something i had heard and played a million times. The realest things and feelings are the easiest to translate. I wrote it all down and immediately did a work tape of it to send to my dad and my friend. They loved it and it had become one of my favorite songs as well. Not just because I had written it so easily but because it had helped me work through something I couldn't seem to get out or express in any other way.
Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen and watch for yourself here and learn more about the album

Frontman Jesse Leach spoke about the progress on the new effort during a chat with KFMX that was posted on YouTube late last week. He told the show, "We're deep into a record on the road. Mike [D'Antonio], our bass player, tracks on days off. We've got the drums done.
"We're just working as fast as we can to get it wrapped up - we've got about 20 songs to choose from. We're ready to crank out a record in the next 6-7 months, hopefully, and get that thing done." Watch the full interview

"We'd like to present the music video for 'Rose-Colored Boy,' written & directed by our new friend Warren Fu," the band posted on Twitter. "So we will now present it. Here it is. Much thanks for waiting."

Williams character suffers a meltdown, resulting in her leaping into the news desk to deliver the rest of the song. Watch the captivating clip play out

Downing shared the information after news of the book leaked online. "It was with great surprise to me that I saw articles recently relating to my book, as work is still in progress finalising everything," the guitarist posted on Facebook. "The internet-led world we live in doesn't make it easy to keep secrets! However, I was secretly desperate to tell you all about this book, as my life story is something that I am very proud of -- even though I suspect that some of the details will surprise you just as they did me as I lived through them.
"Recollecting my life as I have done in this book has often brought me to close to tears, but has also made me laugh with the fondest memories," Downing added. "It is true that I have made many friends along the way but it is also true that I have made some enemies. But one thing is for sure: the music that has been everything to me has not only been my salvation, but has also brought me closer to the people of so many nations-- and I can honestly say that I consider all of you to be my very dear friends. Dubbed "Little Ones", the ad's theme of equality for all features images of a bunch of happy and smiling babies with narration provided by actress Kerry Washington.
"Something remarkable is happening right now. Change is in the air. And, this moment in history calls for something different," says T-Mobile President and Chief Executive Officer John Legere. "Something more impactful. Something more meaningful. We're a brand built on listening to our customers. Customers who are heard, not dismissed - diverse customers all across the country from every region, economic class, race, sex, creed, gender identity, sexual orientation
"Our customers are America. And there's a more important conversation they're having right now. And that's what this year's Super Bowl ad is about. We wanted to use our airtime to further that conversation by making this simple point: We all started in the same place. We are more alike than different."
"All Apologies" was featured on Nirvana's third album, "In Utero", which debuted at No. 1 on the US Billboard 200 upon its release in the fall of 1993; the track was also the lead single from the Seattle band's 1994 live set, "MTV Unplugged In New York." Read more and watch the ad

Over the weekend, frontman Billy Corgan shared another update with fans on Instagram, revealing that 26 songs are in production and the experience is digging up old memories.
"More work ahead (lyrics, vocals, strings). Which I guess means something like 26 songs currently in various states of completion, production, insanity," Corgan wrote. "But honestly, and I mean this from the heart, I'm very pleased to be this engaged with making new music at this point in my life."
The reunion is suspected to include Pumpkins guitarist James Iha and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin, who've shared images of a similar drumkit in recent weeks. Bassist D'Arcy Wretzky confirmed that she won't take part in the new album.
On Instagram, Billy waxed poetic about his 37-year relationship with the guitar. Read more

"The Black Hand":
Jim Chaffin had this to say about the track, which can be streamed here, "'The Black Hand' was one of the first tunes Jimmy and I hashed out together. His articulation of what a panic attack feels like was spot on. Mental illness is a major problem in our country and I'm stoked to be able to give people some hope through music."
Lead vocalist Jimmy Brown adds, "Anxiety has not only been a hot button issue, but a condition that is still being studied to understand. 'The Black Hand' is a vivid description of vitals, and emotions experienced in part by a person when going through such an experience." Read more

The ad, which promotes the company's name change earlier this year from Desert Schools Credit Union, sees Cooper performing his 1972 classic, "School's Out", as a way to emphasize the "school" was taken out of the credit union's name.
"We're incredibly proud of our heritage as a credit union for teachers," Senior Vice-President and Chief Marketing Officer Cathy Graham tells AZCentral. "There was just that one word that was confusing people. And when people are getting a confusing message, they tune out. So we still love teachers. We just changed the name."
Director Ze'ev Waismann explains that the commercial mixes reality and fantasy built around the shock-rocker's image.
"We wanted to design the interior of the bank to look like it would look if it was in an Alice Cooper fever dream," says Waismann. "We wanted it to feel very much like it was a working bank branch where you would still have tellers there, but they're zombies, right? Loan managers but they're all inspired by these Alice Cooper personas. And Alice Cooper, very much at the head of this experience, is on stage singing 'School's Out.' " Read more and watch the ad

The first track from Hammond's forthcoming album, Francis Trouble, is brimming with sing-song melodies and spiky guitars reminiscent of The Strokes' signature sound.
Francis Trouble addresses the guitarist's thoughts about his twin brother, who died in the womb. "What the music says may be serious, but as a medium it should not be questioned, analyzed or taken too seriously," Hammond said in a press statement. "I think it should be tarted up, made into a character, a parody of itself. The music is the mask the message wears and I, the performer, am the message."
Francis Trouble is set for release on March 9. The guitarist will support the album with a tour, following stints opening for the Killers in America and Franz Ferdinand in the U.K. The headlining dates kick off March 6 in San Francisco.
