Since there's not enough money to build the statue, all the money will go back to those who pledged. The design team for the project ,This Ain't Rock'n'Roll, planned on the 'ZiggyZag' statue to be shaped like the iconic lightning bolt from Bowie's Aladdin Sane album cover.
The replica was to be placed in Brixton, south London, streets away from Bowie's Stansfield Road birthplace. A crowdfunding page expressed their gratitude to those who have donated money to the project and added that they are far from done with planning a memorial to tribute Bowie. Read more

Frontman Joe Elliott had this to say, "This is the EP that shone a light on this fledgling bunch of wannabes and set us on our way to international stardom (eventually...)! Recorded at Fairview Studios, just outside Hull in North Yorkshire, a studio we were extremely happy to frequent as it had been used on numerous occasions by the late great Mick Ronson.
"It took 2 days to record and cost 148.50 - money borrowed from my Dad (a feat financially and time wise we would never get close to achieving again, EVER!!!!)" See the tracklisting

"I realized there was more to it than I thought, that both of those records (Dylan's previous standards albums Shadows in the Night and Fallen Angels) together only were part of the picture, so we went ahead and did these," he explains of the three-disc project. 'It's better that they come out at the same time because thematically they are interconnected, one is the sequel to the other and each one resolves the previous one.
While Dylan was well versed in the standards he covered, he said he hadn't realized "how much of the essence of life is in them - the human condition, how perfectly the lyrics and melodies are intertwined, how relevant to everyday life they are, how non-materialistic." He adds that he's not sure if his own fans will pick up a copy. Read more

I'd like to highlight the song "Downfall of Eden" from our latest album "Monumentum". The basic idea for the song was written a few years ago. It was originally written for Ronnie Atkins from Pretty Maids. Erik Mrtensson and I were hired by Frontiers Records to write a solo album for him that later turned out to be the "Nordic Union" project.
We instantly loved the whole idea but the vocal melodies and the acoustic guitar riff sounded very Swedish. Almost too much with its folkish melodies and the orchestration, so we decided to keep it to ourselves for later.
We dug up the idea when it was time to write for our next album. It sounded just as fresh as when we wrote the music. We didn't have any lyrics yet. But at the same time the elections were on TV.
The smeariest campaign ever. It was fascinating watching politicians doing everything in their power to besmirch each other instead of just listening to what the people really want. The world is falling while politicians are playing in the sandbox.
Hence the lyrics: "The king is just a court jester. The king is nothing but a fool. The king ain't got it all together. It's the Downfall of Eden. The Queen is selling you a nightmare. The Queen does everything to win. The Queen is way beyond corrupted. It's the Downfall of Eden"
Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album
