Dave Grohl Reveals His Possible Next Career Move

(Gibson) Fresh off his experience directing his daughters in the latest Foo Fighters video, "The Sky is a Neighborhood," Dave Grohl says he has grander cinematic goals in mind for the future.

"Last year, I was approached to make a feature film and I was a little hesitant at first, and then I got into it," he said recently, speaking with Rolling Stone. "I started working on production and getting into casting with these big names. And at first, I wasn't sure if I would be able to do it. And once my heart clicked, I just dive head first into whatever it is. And I really got into the script and visualizing this story, but I didn't have time to do it. "

Grohl declined to reveal the identity of those "big names." He did, however, say it's just a matter of time before filmmaking becomes a full-throttle endeavor. "Someday, I'm going to wind up doing it," he said. "But the Foo Fighters always get in the way. [Laughs] I can see myself doing more and more of it as the years come. That film's still in rewrites and once we get the rewrite happening, I'm sure that the casting will kick in and pull our teams together. But I like my day job. I really enjoy my day job." Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant Announces First Tour Dates For 'Carry Fire'

(hennemusic) Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant has announced dates for fall UK tour in support of his forthcoming album, "Carry Fire." The 4-week, 14-date run will open in Plymouth on November 16, with shows wrapping up in Birmingham on December 12.

Ahead of the tour, Plant will release his eleventh album, "Carry Fire", on October 13. The rocker produced and recorded the follow-up to 2014's "lullaby and...The Ceaseless Roar" with the Sensational Space Shifters; the project features appearances by Albanian cellist Redi Hasa, renowned viola and fiddle player Seth Lakeman, and Pretenders singer Chrissie Hynde.

"It's about intention, I respect and relish my past works but each time I feel the lure and incentive to create new work. I must mix old with new," explains Plant. "Consequently the whole impetus of the band has moved on its axis somewhat, the new sound and different space giving way to exciting and dramatic landscapes of mood, melody and instrumentation."

Plant is previewing the fall release with a lyric video for the lead single, "The May Queen." Check that out and see the tour dates here.

Metallica Plan To Revisit 'Master Of Puppets' Next

Metallica drummer and cofounder Lars Ulrich has revealed that the band is making plans to reissue their acclaimed "Master Of Puppets" album and hope to have it out by the end of this year.

The band's breakthrough 1986 effort will be the next record in the band's catalog to receive the deluxe box set treatment, following last year's reissue of 1983's "Kill 'Em All" and 1984's "Ride The Lightning."

Lars revealed the plans in an interview with Voir (via Classic Rock): "It's next. We'll try to get it out by the end of the year - it's coming. We are working on it. "There are so many things associated with Master Of Puppets - it is an immense project.

We spent a lot of time working on Hardwired... To Self-Destruct and Master Of Puppets is the next project. We hope to have it out by the end of the year, if not, a little later."

Chester Bennington's Ex-Wife Unhappy With His Funeral

(Radio.com) Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington's first wife, Samantha Bennington, took to social media and blasted the way that his funeral was handled in a post on Facebook.

"My son [Draven] & I have not had an opportunity to speak not even at his funeral (that only represented his life that he was married to his new wife)," she wrote. "It was a disgusting delusional display on all people who spoke at the funeral & their characters."

She goes on to make a host of accusations around the funeral, and how family members were treated, her son in particular. "I hope you like capitalizing on his death .. karma is real," she wrote towards the end of the post. I send you back all your energy to you a thousand time folds! Look in the mirror, I hope you like what you see. Business is business but I see Zero LoveWe know who are friends & family are so if your [sic] offended, good then you read this & it applies!" Gregg Allman Cover Of Willie Dixon Classic Streaming Online

(hennemusic) Gregg Allman's camp are streaming a cover of the Willie Dixon classic, "I Love The Life I Live", as the latest preview to the September 8 release of his final album, "Southern Blood."

The tune follows the lead single, "My Only True Friend", from the project, which delivers a collection of songs written by Allman's friends and favourite artists, including Jackson Browne, Jerry Garcia & Robert Hunter, Lowell George and Spooner Oldham & Dan Penn.

Allman, who passed away on May 27 from complications of liver cancer at the age of 69, was well aware that his time was short as he worked on the record with his touring group of musicians.

"Gregg was very excited to be in the studio," says friend and collaborator Michael Lehman. "He was especially thrilled to be recording this studio album with his solo band - he was so proud of them and loved the sound that they produced together. Gregg felt close to every single one of them.

"The Gregg Allman Band was like a family or a well-oiled machine, always knowing what the other band members were thinking and doing." Read more and stream the song here.

Singled Out: The Persian Leaps' Picture My Reaction

Indie rock/power pop band The Persian Leaps are gearing up to release their new "Bicycle Face" EP on September 22nd and we asked vocalist/guitarist Drew Forsberg about the song "Picture My Reaction". Here is the story:

I wrote "Picture My Reaction" several years ago. I don't recall the details, but it probably came to me the way most of my songs do--strumming an unplugged 1973 Gibson SG Special while sitting on my bed. I'm sure I came up with the opening riff first and then started singing random phrases until something stuck. "Picture my reaction" was the one that stuck. That was the easy part. The hard part was figuring out how to build a song around that phrase.

Ultimately, "Picture My Reaction" became a song about that intoxicating, electric rush you feel when you're around someone special, early on in a relationship. I almost never write love songs, so it's an unusual topic for The Persian Leaps. But the song is more about the chemical reaction rather than the sentimental, emotional aspects of love.

The song is unusual (although not so unusual for us) because it doesn't have a chorus--just verses separated by a riff. I have an unwritten rule about not using instruments other than guitar, bass, and drums, but I was very tempted to add a wall of horns during the riff section. It would have been perfect... for some other band.

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself here and learn more about the EP right here!

Motorhead Stream Their Version Of Metallica's Whiplash

(hennemusic) Motorhead are streaming audio of their take on the 1983 Metallica classic, "Whiplash", as the latest preview to the September 1 release of "Under Cover."

The Motorhead version of the track from Metallica's debut album, "Kill 'Em All", originally appeared on the 2004 compilation, "Metallic Attack: The Ultimate Tribute," which featured a variety of acts paying tribute to the thrash metal pioneers.

"We love Metallica and they love us," says drummer Mikkey Dee, "and this is one of the songs we liked a lot and covered it back then. The snare, the riffs - all that fit in with Motorhead."

The group's cover won Motorhead a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 2005, which Dee describes as "total irony. It's okay, but it would have meant more if was one of our own songs."

"Under Cover" sees Motorhead deliver versions of tunes originally recorded by The Ramones, Judas Priest, Ozzy Osbourne, David Bowie, The Sex Pistols, Ted Nugent, The Rolling Stones, Dio and Twisted Sister.

Tracks for the collection were recorded during various studio sessions between 1992 and 2015. Stream the cover here.
